Plus Upen has the uniqueness about him of being an NRI... And he suits certain film roles due to this.

In contrast, Gautam has nothing unique that can't be delivered a hundred times better by the likes of Varun/Ranveer/Sushant etc etc

Can't say for sure. I wish both the very best. Upen's always been a sidekick. I don't think he's ever been a male lead and I don't think he will be but he'll surely do more work in BW. He has been on the shelf for way too long and most of the parts given to him required him to be a London Boy (Namastey London, Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahaani). BTW people are mentioning guests like Suneel Darshan and Ramesh Taurani - kuch faida nahin hoga to launch Upen as lead - they are worried about their own sons Shiv Darshan & Girish Taurani 😆

Why are people looking down on TV? People like Barun Sobti, Sanaya Irani, Drashti etc. are WAY more popular than people like Upen IMO (And no, I'm not comparing them to Gautam). I'm sure Gautam will do well on the small screen 😊 And who knows.. maybe he can enter BW... he is still very young. 😊 The fact that his work has been to Cannes is a huge achievement 👏 Whatever happens in the future - he's gained lots of fans through his stint on Bigg Boss 😊

Ramesh Taurani is the owner of Tips'... they have at least a couple film releases a year. Suneel Darshan has lots of money... can make a movie whenever he wants.

Point is the Upen still has some connections in the industry. Upen's next release "I" is one of Indian's biggest films of 2015... to get main antagonist role in a Shankar film (director of Robot, Jeans etc) and working with Vikram is a pretty big deal. This film is releasing in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, English and Chinese!
