Upen has totally lost sight of what he wanted to achieve from Bigg Boss. His aim was to revive his bollywood career!! He wasted the initial weeks by hiding in his bed being a teddy bear for the girl and living it up doing what he enjoys - being a casanova! He thought by being a casanova he will emerge as the hero but oh boy was he sadly mistaken!!
In the meanwhile Gautam emerged as the entertaining one and the hero of the house. Even his haters have to appreciate his resilience if nothing else. Slowly and gradually it hit Upen hard that he is not the hero - infact he is a nobody. In his head he is gods gift to (wo)mankind but nobody really cares about him outside the house.
Gautam Ali Pritam Praneet Puneet even Arya created their own unique personalities - good bad is debatable but each one of them has a very distinct and strong personality.

Each week Gautam got praised for being the hero and Upen started feeling more and more jealous. Agar koi positive mindset wala insaan ho to he would focus on improving himself and enhancing his own personality. But he started imitating Gautam - trying to replace him! Proven baat hai nobody can copy anyone and succeed. Jis tarha SRK ek hi hai Salman ek hi hai Amitabh ek hi hai waise hi people who find there own distinct personality succeed. Upen ko kon samjhaye yeh baat.
When his copying did not work he started feeling more and more resentment towards gautam and issi mei he started plotting against him. But karma is a bitch. Jo khadda yeh gautam ke liye khodta hai usmei khud hi gir jaata hai hamesha. His consistent string of failures is frustrating him more and more to the point where now he has lost the plot totally and has no idea what to do next.
Ab baat iske ego pe agayi hai and instead of admitting he went wrong and turning a new leaf he is being as obstinate as a donkey and ussi raaste pe chalta ja raha hai. Sabse bari seekh to Gautam se isko yeh leni chahiye that criticism kaise lete hain and how you improve yourself.
His second mistake (also the biggest and most costly) is how he behaves with Salman. I am not talking about what he says as in the content but the way he says it. His tone and body language are all very arrogant as if he is mocking Salman. Gauhar bhi head on Salman se panga leti thi but wo argue karti thi apne point pe - she never showed him any attitude. Itna to Kushal bhi nai karta tha. For the longest time Salman ignored it and mazak mazak mei Upen ki leg pulling karke wo maan leta tha ke hisaab barabar but now clearly Salman has had enough. He just cannot stand Upen any longer and I cant blame him. Had I been in his place I would have blasted Upen by now.
The thing is Upen ki yeh harkaten aur yeh attitude dekh ke no one from the industry would want to work with him. I am sure Salman is not so farigh to tell others not to work with Upen but the thing is industry mei humility takes you far and arrogance kills you. Sab ko nazar araha hai Upen ka attitude. Which director would want to work with him? Ek to koi hero wali baat nai doosra itna dimaag kharab aur attitude teesra when he is not respecting SUPERSTAR Salman on national television then all directors would think ke yeh humen kya respect karega!
Upen is one person who has done more harm to himself than benefit from this show!
