Contrary to popular rumours, reliable sources confirm that Farah Khan will not replace Salman Khan as the host in the ongoing season, but will host another special show of Bigg Boss post the grand finale
Avinash Lohana: A few reports recently suggested that director Farah Khan will take over as the host of Bigg Boss 8 from Salman Khan as the show has received an extension and it's doing pretty well. These rumours further suggested that Salman will not be hosting the show as he didn't wish to continue with it. However, there seems to be a twist in the tale.
A reliable source close to the channel reveals, ' The grand finale will happen as scheduled in January with Salman. However, from there Farah will host the show for another five weeks but not with the same contestants of season 8. Selected participants from all the previous seasons of Bigg Boss will be in the house once again. Of course, a few from the current season may also be there.' The source adds, ' Farah was offered the show a month back.' When asked for a reason behind this sudden extension of the reality show, the source says, ' The channel wanted to do a special show as the current season is doing extremely well. They will soon make an official announcement on the same.' When further questioned if Salman knows about this latest development the source adds, ' Yes, he knows about it and he is absolutely fine with it.' A few reports had also claimed that Salman was upset with the channel for certain reports circulated about two contestants in the current season of Bigg Boss and hence wanted to quit the show, however all of them now seem to be false, as the grand finale of the current season is indeed happening with Salman and he is not quitting the show mid- way.
Farah, who recently gave the smashing hit Happy New Year starring Shah Rukh Khan, is a big fan of Bigg Boss and is also an ardent follower of the show. We are sure her entry as a host will double- up the fun quotient. We tried reaching Farah, however she was unavailable for comment.
