Dimpy whether you like it or not is a celebrity by the virtue of being married into a famous political party. Just like many celeb wives and siblings she was gossiped about and written about by tabloids a tad bit. She also technically won her first reality show and has been on a couple of others making her a reality tv star. Again whether you like it or not in current times reality tv stars are celebrities just like Kim K, Paris H amongst many many others. She was also a small time model and was a part of gladrags and such.

About proof of her abusive marriage a google search would suffice.

she was one of the top models in kolkata.i have seen her numerous work in A-list magazings,specialy in one that have launches bipasha basu,celina jethly,koena mitra etc. she also did some films.her stint on national television though started with swamvar,but she was famous in her field even before that.definitely a bigger achiever than rene.
