The Curious Case of Upen Patel!!

Lets start from the very start i.e. by analyzing his reasons for coming to bigg boss. Very obviously he is desperate to revive his career.

Coming to his personality so he is basically this casanova who is a smooth talker with the ladies knows how to please them. He is someone who believes in being nice and courteous and is laid back. Basically he is an introvert and has a subtle personality. Not at all filmy hero like but very boy next door type. So he comes with this thinking that I am a bollywood person. Girl find me goodlooking so I will naturally be in the limelight will not need to do much and voila I will become popular and will start getting offers.

He comes to the bigg boss house does his natural thing but his badluck that there was Gautam and even if we ignore Gautam then there is Pritam. Who are all dabang filmy hero type. One is an angry young man the other is the funny man. Every week he does his own thing but gets bashed by everyone that he is not visible blah blah blah. With each week his frustration starts to pent up. He starts realizing that his dream of reviving his career is fading. He realizes that he is not the hero - Gautam is and Gautam ke baad Pritam hai.

He starts getting more and more worked up, desperate and frustrated ke aisa kya karun mei ke I get into the limelight and achieve my objective. He realizes he needs to do 2 things. First get footage and second show Gautam as the villain so that he can be the hero. He starts doing all sorts of foolish things right from taking faltu ke pange eg. stretching the soni issue unnecessarily "dont tont me boss" etc etc. To his dismay it backfires. He ends up looking like a bigger idiot. Gets more shaken up - more hatred for Gautam and more desperation and the cycle continues.

It has reached to a point where now his confusion, frustration, desperation have started taking a toll on his health. He looks really defeated and desperate and doesnt know what to do. He is totally lost. Na to real personality rahi na fake personality chal rahi hai. He has started looking really beemar, tired and defeated now.

My question to all here is that who is to blame? The audience watches the show because they want entertainment. But the audience did not have issues with him not being in the limelight. The audience just had problems with his raasleela with Soni.

He was always a favorite among the housemates so certainly they are not to be blamed.

Upen can be blamed but not completely because his halaat are such that he is desperate.

It is Bigg Boss ke show wale who are to be blamed. They are the ones who constantly pestered him for weeks to do something and give footage. Agreed they want to make money but let the guy be!! Uski real personality thi jaisa wo starting mei tha. Nahin hai wo extrovert so whats so wrong with it. The audience did not mind him. No one did. Phir why push someone to that edge?

Upen and Gautam were friends pehle but now Bigg Boss has ruined it by constantly pitting them against each other jab ke its like comparing apples and oranges. Aisi jealousy to siblings ke beech mei bhi hosakti hai phir yahan to Gautam Upen ka kuch bhi nai lagta.

Its so clear that Upen has lost his confidence and self esteem. He thinks his real personality is not good enough. I just hope he does not suffer from this once he is out of the house. I actually feel bad for him. Sab ki apni alag alag level hoti hai mental strength ki and I feel Bigg Boss has surpassed his.

I say either evict him or send someone in the house to counsel him and build his self confidence and make him realize that he just needs to be himself. Boring ho ya kuch bhi ho if he shows what he really is there are many who might like him despite being boring. Sabki alag alag choice hoti hai. I like dabang boys who have this rebellious streak jaise Gautam. I am sure bht honge who like calm and goody goody boys as well. So Upen ko bhi log pasand karte hi honge if only he is himself.

I would say he is not a bad person but I just fear that his experience here at Bigg Boss will scar his confidence. Hope it doesnt happen and he realizes that he has lost the plot. Above all instead of focusing on why Gautam is a hero he starts focusing on being himself for his ownself

He is quite arrogant to think that his mediocre personality that is a hit one on one would sell on national tv. Frankly in the beginning no one bothered with him because he was lost in the crowd and not because everyone was ok with or liked him.

When he was questioning Sonali on livefeed about G, his arrogance was shining through. He was so sure that he's above everyone that he can't figure out why G is so popular. If only he would take his head out of his arse and listen to good advice that has thus far been given to him he would have been better off. But the obnoxious prick kept on arguing he is right. Even if he admitted that he was partial during his captaincy, he would have won brownie points but he thinks he himself is enough and he shouldn't have to work hard to win people over. It doesn't work that way buddy. You need to court the audiences. Girls may find you charming because of your accent and because you may be more courteous than the average indian male but that doesn't last long. You still need the X factor. So don't blame BB staff or anyone else. If that's the case, then we can start blaming GOD for his mediocre personality. 😆 He is responsible for his choices and his actions.
