Gautam has been a sidekick in his shows because he chose to be one. I think I read an interview of his a while ago where he said he is happy playing supporting characters on tv and learning. His main aim is films and he doesn't want to be overexposed by doing a lead role on a show.

At least that was his reasoning.

Nope. His reputation is alright. Look at the show's lead Vivian's FB account. There are many pics of Gautam and him partying with the rest of the cast.

Infact it's Sukirti who is missing in the all the pics.
