All the trending and promoting on social media sites..
Making a huge issue out a small thing probably..galvanizing reactions and making it seem larger than the support really is..subtle manipulation of the actual scene

Yes twitter is not a true representative of real picture but with a show like bigboss which depends on voting (however fixed it may be) social media accounts like those on Twitter and FB do matter..the general public views the show..probably discusses with friends/colleagues offhandedly for few minutes..maybe even votes a few times (in rare cases) and for such detached viewers..these illusions created on twitter/FB can probably change perceptions unless they dig deep

Plus all the trending does matter to the channel and the PH (IMO opinion at least) and they do edit in favor of the peoples favorite/the contestant who is seen to get maximum support
Their panelists (stupid idea) tend to propogate the favorites and make them look better and make the ones that are disliked worse
Its almost like shaping viewers opinion. Plus all the feedback ends up in contestants changing their real selves and trying to look good even if their actions are against their true nature..
Kills the viewing experience for me atleast

I think nowadays the whole world is on twitter and facebook. So I think it's a fairly good indication of people's opinion. Many of these are the voting population.
Also in this day and age our every opinion is shaped by the media or social networking sites. That is just the norm now. We hear so much about every movie before watching it. Does that also ruin the viewing experience.
As far as channels catering to what's trending, they are trying to give the viewers what they like. how is that wrong? Would you rather they bore us with what we aren't interested in?
I do agree with your point of the viewer feedback to the contestants. I hated it when they started doing that and wished that they'd just let them be who they want to be. But now it's the format of BB and is here to stay 😭

Not everybody is on Twitter but I agree the people who actually vote are the ones more active on the social media sites so it definitely creates a wave, based on that Gautam is a sure shot winner..

Off course they are true representation
Gautam surviving every time without doubt, popularity of him in this forum .where any poll results into minimum 70% vote is his favour tells us twiter, facebook re true reflections.

Sometimes we do not trust what we do not like. Last time i did not trust the support for Gauhar as i hated her but she ultimately became the winner.
