this phrase has its shortcomings and is not a socially Moral idiom
people can respect people to faces and disrespect them behind their backs.
they can say i love you yaar! to their faces, and bitch about them behind their backs.
they say dont worry i'll stand by you, but backstab them.
like it is the mantra in the current BB house.
So what does it mean to show respect, and get respect in return ?
agree with what all the others say, be a part of the herd, be every bodys yes man, say yes panditji, what ever you say panditji, jo hukm panditji. one should not have a personal opinion but should adhere to only the collective opinion. then you can get respect
respect is earned, not granted or given or taken.
a person who is steadfast, honest, doesn't hold a grudge, a person with fighting spirit, who plays fair, who is true to himself. and forgives friends that backstab him, even though people hate him he wishes them happiness. a person who has the balls and the guts to be different, no matter how much he's disliked. even if he has to call you a dog to your face. he has the guts to do it, and damn the consequences. a person who will fall but has the spirit to rise.
in BB8 the only person who has earned respect is Gautam Gulati. he has earned the ultimate respect. the respect of the public. the viewers of Big Boss. he is the fabled Phoenix
