you can buy the combination and average of all the reasons mentioned above such as,..

1.

Few haatha-paayi and kheencha-taani's ( which occurred previously ) scenes were deleted and not shown, so we do not know, what made him to sit silently there.

He never wanted to do physical with any with those giant muscles and macho-man kinda hulk-hogan persona,..as he always mentioned,. And this task was of baahu-baal, macho and muscle man kind of, and he never wanted to defame himself once again, with his 20 kilo ka loha waala haath.

He is always lazy, idle by nature and takes no task with any interest and prefers sideline, for some elderly reason too,... But here could be one more reason that I see,...that no one has mentioned,...

He also had sympathized KAR previously by getting into her team, when she was left all alone,. And at that time,. While changing back the t-shirt color, he had asked and dbl asuured with KAR smthg like,. Mere bina bhi tum yeh task kar hi logi naa,..jeet hi jaavogi naa? ,... mean,.. innerly he never wanted KAR to lose this task, as he had promished her,.. since the task penalty was -- losing team ke captain ko seedhe-seedhe nominate kiya jaayega,.. and he did not want to be the reason, for KAR that he had initially promised her, that he , himself became the reason, of her being nominated directly.
