I don’t even watch BB. Half the fights goes over my head but these iconic contestants is the reason why I rewatch their scenes on youtube. Dolly & Ashmit’s argument lives rent free in my mind. 😆

Shweta Tiwari - BB season 4 winner. She was the FIRST female winner of BB and created a lot of sensations in the show and after the show. He eternal friendship with Sameer Soni was the best friendship seen on BB's history. They stood for each other all the time and had a bond with no physical touch involved. She had the grace to actually be the winner.

I agree with this and a lot of people who talk about BB13 most likely started watching BB that season which is why the subsequent seasons seem dull in comparison. BB14 and BB15 were bad but look worse when compared to BB13.

However, Shukla and Shehnaz did not make BB famous. BB made them famous, esp Shehnaz. BB has always had loyal fans but S4 when Salman started hosting was a turning point for its mass appeal. Dolly, Shweta T, Veena M, Ashmit, Sara getting married in the house - all of this made this reach the mainstream. S5 was a cracker of a season and since then there have been good and bad seasons.

BB4 is the first season I watched and hands down, it was only curiosity about Salman's hosting that made me watch it. I used to watch Dus Ka Dum on Sony (I think) with family and we all loved Salman as a host. So Salman is definitely the reason I started watching but soon became fan of the show itself.

Bigg Boss was famous because of two INFAMOUS characters:

1. Dolly Bindra - Season 4

2. Pooja Misrra - Season 5

Sid and Sana came into the picture much later. Before Sid and Sana, we also had Imam, Karishma Tanna, and Gautam Gulati… Way too many shareholders to take credit.

However, please note that before DB and PM, we had the likes of Raja Choudhary, Sambhavana Seth, and Payal Rohatgi running the show. Nonetheless, no one came close to Bindra and Misrra!

The reason I think bb was popular started back in bb4, during dolly bindra times. Not a fan of sallu but yes he is definitely a factor of making bb popular. And it's a throughout process. Pinning that on one damn season is so unwise.

Season 13 just got hyped caused season 12 was utterly boring.

Big Boss is famous because of its contestants. Those who have watched from season 1 will tell you recent seasons are no match for earlier seasons.

Best Host for BB was Arshad Warsi hands down. Salman is ok host and was better when he first came on but later on became worse each season. He only comes during weekend.

Show runs because of five days of contestants antics and not cos of host. So if contestants are not interesting then season becomes dull.

Earlier seasons of BB were the best because contestants were natural and they made the show a success.
