Why is Aunty an offensive term?

Aunty is not a poisonous vituperative and violent attack that destroys someone's character and image. It is an extraordinarily mild and innocuous term. When you are say even about 25, most young kids will call you uncle or aunty. Above 40? Definitely. People have called me uncle, why on earth would I be offended?

If it is a term used in jest, there's no problem in the world. I guess I am not seeing the problem at all. Is it a language thing? That it is offensive in Hindi. Because let me assure, it is not offensive in English.
