Let me be the devil's advocate here and point out that no one to this date has made fun of Shamita for being subpar or bad at what she does for a living, ie, acting. So I don't really think anyone would be interested in dragging her for not knowing a random fact concerning the human body.
Also, while I'm at it, common sense is not the same as common knowledge and hence lack of common knowledge does not mean lack of common sense.
Common knowledge is knowing water is wet and when the sun sets it gets dark. These are things that are truths everywhere and anytime.
Common sense is finding wisdom from experience, thus learned wisdom. This learned wisdom also includes the ability to foresee the possible negatives of acting in a certain way. It gives you the ability to think of the ‘what ifs’ and its answers.
It is knowing that when it gets dark you should use some sort of light source to see where you are going as you might injure yourself in the dark. It is knowing not to get wet in winter because you will be cold and it will be difficult to get dry again etcetera.
I see common sense as a little voice in your head telling you what's a good idea and what isn't and what the repurcussions are. But aside from all if this even people with fantastic common sense some times still do and say pretty dumb things.
If you have common sense you will understand this distinction . If you don't, you'll believe them to be the same thing.
