In the sub-continent, cricketing terms like chakka, googly, stumped, clean bowled etc are used all the time in colloquial, casual conversations. These terms are not necessarily used only in relation the cricket as a sport. Don’t people say it’s a chakka or a sixer when someone does something in style? Or say it’s a googly, or I’m stumped when they don’t understand something? Don’t they say things like I was clean bowled implying they’re impressed?

That party didn’t have any cricket match happening, but Rahul and Aly were being like any other person from the sub-continent. They said chakka purely referring to Arshi’s master stroke in that situation.

Just because they’re on BB, people don’t stop speaking in common lingo, unless they’re Rubina! 😜

i am from Pakistan ... Punjabi and whnever Virat hit six or Boom Boom Hit six i always dance n enjoy n say Chakkaaa mara n lets naaachoo

@bold You said all

I know you won’t agree, and twist it as my nafrat. When Rahul said first time, it was unintentional, then he kept repeating it to taunt.

In Mumbai, abhe Chakke is a slang used by many tapori's.

Rahul has conveniently twisted it for Vikas.

Both of them know why that word is used for and in what context.

Maybe Guptaji did not expect such slander from Rahul.

In a country like India.....where the first religion that unites everyone is Cricket....and chhakka maara would mean hitting a sixer.....abey chakke...or chhakka hai kya...would mean ridiculing a person for their sexuality......do you think that people would call some one a chhakka on Natl. TV and it would be let go??

It was clear that Rahul and Aly were thrilled by the comeback Arshi had for Vikas and they were saying chhakka maara.....I agree they shouldn't have used the word chhakka as people would jump on them saying VG ko bola.....

I remember last season...a contestant had called someone chhakka....like abey chakke....something like that and immediately everyone jumped on her and made her apologize.......

Calling someone chhakka on Natl TV would be a huge issue and if that was the case BB would have made them apologize....just like he made Jaan apologize for that Marathi language goof up..

For me being an Indian.....chakka maara will always be hitting a sixer.....I have grown up on cricket ...hearing the commentators say.....kya chhakka mara hai....aur ye aur chakka....gend binna tappa khaaye boundary ke paar....🤣

People can twist words to bash Rahul and Aly.....but they clearly were jumping and saying Arshi ne kya chakka maara...😆
