Are you from the medical field? It will be easier to explain then.

So basically medical and surgical fields are two different things. Once you become a doctor i.e. complete a bachelor's degree (MBBS), you can decide to pursue either a medical or surgical field.

For example, a cardiologist is from the medical field while a cardiothoracic surgeon is from the surgical field.

In India and the US they do still use 'Dr' even for surgeons. But in other parts of the world mainly UK, the far east etc, surgeons will be called 'Mr' or 'Ms'.

BUT if someone has completed a residency/ masters in India or anywhere actually, and have either worked in the UK, or have obtained membership of the royal college of surgeons through an exam in the UK (which can be done outside UK as well. This means they have a license to practice there) then they are referred to as Mr or Ms as per UK guidelines.

So I'm guessing since Umar doesn't use the Dr prefix on any of his SM handles but does mention that he's a general surgeon, he either has the aforementioned qualifications OR

he just doesn't like to use it on SM lol

Glad to meet another doctor here, especially given from UK, I was really embarrassed writing here , wondering if I was being foolish, but carried on wanting to continue the goal of social service, educating people on human values.

regading the titles of Ms and Mr it will be difficult for non Uk based especially common man to comprehend and accept the practices here.

Doctors who work in their own clinic promote their clinic n mention timing.

Umar works in a hospital n had done MS n is working as a senior resident.

When he came for family week Asim asked did he came after duty n he said he took a leave so he is working.

Also he said in interview he didn't gave further competitive exams as he got busy in promotion of Asim.

Oh hello, doc! So nice to see fellow doctors on the forum. Maybe our personal lives aren’t as dramatic so we get attracted to shows like bb hahaa idk

Hii 🤗 yes, I guess you are right 😆, I’m pleasantly surprised to see many medical doctors here, honestly I don’t really watch any tv soaps , my sister who watched this show in the past, called it a time pas, now she’s got busy, being abroad too.😳 And she doesn’t watch it anymore.

I started watching BB intermittently albeit, to have a common topic for our chats with my sister, in the past😳 🤣.

this season I thought I’ll enjoy watching Shukla being praised and enjoy Rashmi being disliked , but it turns out otherwise and bitter truth telly hero’s are zeros in reality.

He was a senior resident in HN reliance hospital Mumbai from 2018-19. Must have done MS/DNB general surgery from 2015-18. I don't know if he is practicing there as a junior consultant.

Apparently he was supposed to take the subspecialty exams in December but obviously couldn't. Now he's less active on social media. Must be starting his prep for SS exam in June.

I dont mean this in a nasty way but how does he find that kind of time to spend on social media and such when he is a practising surgeon? I guess he is on a sabbatical. Anyway its nice to see how supportive he is of his brother.

That’s nice! I think bb is the only Indian tv show I’ve watched and followed so closely over the years. Was never into daily soaps either (except way back during kyunki and kahaani times lol)

It’s actually an advantage cuz we don’t know the otherwise familiar faces of Indian tv that come on bb so we have a completely neutral opinion of everyone at the start of the season.
I knew rashami and Siddharth by face though (realized after a while that he was in Humpty sharma). Never watched any of their serials so didn’t know about the fights or chemistry lol
Now I feel like they’re my distant relatives at least 😆
