Okay guys, first of all don't accuse me of being delusional here 😆 I am an Asim fan and this is my Asim-centric perspective. But I hope all fandoms read this and give me some honest thoughts. I am very well aware that Asim made some mistakes this week, especially his reaction with the Rashmi/Himanshi thing. But it was a small thing in the larger picture. Clearly neither of them have taken it to heart and I'm sure they must have talked it out later too, judging by how they were still friendly after the incident. But just look at the number of threads, woh bhee on f**king ridiculous topics:
- Asim ka bohot zyada horaha hai
- Asim arrogant hogaya hai
- Asim said "I don't owe them anything" (An extremely common phrase that people say all the time)
- Intense scrutiny, like his smile after Sana and Shukla argued (by the way, this is coming from fans of the man who famously smirks and chuckles when others are getting blasted on WKV, most notably when Rashmi's entire personal life blunder was exposed on TV).
Two things I've noticed. Firstly, these threads are usually (not always) made by newbies or groupbies. Secondly, they don't last very long, because they aren't topics that prompt a deep discussion. Ab "Asim ka zyada horaha hai" pe kya bat karein? 😆
I fell in love with this forum (and you amazing people - including from other fandoms) because this was a place to have well thought-out, interesting, deepdive conversations about the housemates. There were plenty of times when I, as an Asim fan, have criticized him. I still remember last week one of the users (Oye Chup Kar) started a genuinely beautiful thread because they could no longer support Sid, and so many people described having gone through the same thoughts at different points in the season. It prompted an honest conversation about subjective viewing, tolerance thresholds, and it was lovely to see people be mature and admit to having evolved opinions based on more and more information coming every week. There have even been really deep, heartfelt threads started by Shukla fans defending his intentions and character, while still acknowledging his natural instinct for violence & bullying.
I'm very sad to say this - but it doesn't feel like that same forum I used to know, with the wonderful people I've had countless interesting, funny, frustrating, calming, reassuring, and heart-touching conversations with. Something happened about 2 weeks ago. Now, its just full of insults. There will be a thread called something like "Asim is heartless," with one reply saying "Sid Paras ka chela hai" and another saying "Chuslet hai hee ehsaan faramosh," and yet another saying "Rashmi aunty is too old to star as a lead." Where are the discussions? Where are the topics that make you think, and the replies that make you rethink?
What is going on? Does this always happen around finale time? (My first time being active on this forum this season) Has social media PR activity reached IF as well? Are people just trolling for their own comic effect?
