I'm not sure how people are reacting outside of social media (I don't live in India, so most of my BB related interactions happen online), but as far as I can see, Project Sideline Asim is a massive failure. Ek toh in the chakkar of cutting Asim's footage, they are overdoing the couples shit. Even reviewers like the Bollywood Spy guy, who is generally very positive about everything, very clearly expressed that the show is looking crass, vulgar, and frankly meaningless because its the same fight/makeup over and over again. Plus, in the very little screentime Asim got, he totally outshined everybody because he was pitted against Paras who one can always count on to make the opposite person look better with his misogyny and general trashiness. So thoda sa quality vs quantity ho gaya.
Plus, in their infinite (lack of!) wisdom, the makers decided to do an audience participation task where a live audience would decide the winners. For some dumbass reason, in 2020, in the age of the internet, they decided to rig the audience by purposefully including mostly SidNaaz fans. 𤣠In other news, more and more people (and even entertainment news channels) are starting to pick up the bias after Shukla's manhandling went viral, and Vindu got royally exposed for trying to trend a Paras hashtag to use against Asim, woh bhee after the episode where Asim attacked Paras's sexist comments
Overall, its clear. This ain't working. So, that got me thinking - how is this thing ever going to end? A SidNaaz top 2 is a horrible way to go. Ek toh it guarantees a Shukla win, which is not desirable from both a PR perspective as well as an overall behavior-encouragement precedence point of view. If somehow Sana wins, she will instantly be counted as one of the worst winners - who has been a total task non-performer, completely dependent on Sid (as exposed on the secret room episodes), and just fake-crying and doormatting her way to the top (uska aura hi aisa hai š¤¢)
An Asim/Shukla/Rashmi/Sana/top 4 makes sense not just vote-wise, but also story/contribution wise. Then I saw the latest episode and I noticed a cordial vibe between Asim and Sid. In the chef task, they were working together - talking to each other in a friendly way, and even hugged each other when they won. Plus they were both in the big group making fun of Madhu, and they seemed to be enjoying each other's jokes. Stand-up comedy task mein bhee we know after Sana, Asim-Shukla are the runners up. I bet if Shukla and Asim get 2-3 more tasks together, they'll be friends again. We all know how the makers manipulate group dynamics, via task teams, Salman hints, and other such ways. They won't be tight like last time, because both have grudges and Shukla is not frankly not even the same guy who Asim idolized back then anymore he's basically become a Chugalikhor aunty harassing Madhu for the sake of 'entertainment' now. But this is a logical way to go forward with the storyline. It would be pretty fitting overall as a story if these two start out very close on the same side, have an insane clash in the middle that divides the house, and end the show again friends as the top 2. Votes wise these two seem like the logical final 2 anyway. At the finale, they both forgive each other and stand tall on stage as whoever wins by audience votes has their arm raised by Salman to end this madhouse season. Hum sath sath hai.
Disclaimer: For those of you who haven't seen my posts here, just wanna be clear - I am in no way a Shukla fan! š I'm just thinking out loud about how they can approach the final month from a creative point of view. They're clearly hellbent on keeping Shukla, and I don't think they'll remove Asim because there's literally no way to do it with votes, and the last thing they need is another bias discussion point. I don't think Shukla is getting any sort of punishment for his bad behavior (although I also do share some of your fantasy that one fine weekend Salman will walk in and destroy him, and finally bring him back down to Earth). So, logically, this is the only way to go I think.
Thoughts?
