Conflict resolution skills

Today's extra dose had a beautiful scene between Rashmi and Devoleena. They were sitting next to each other and Rashmi was talking about one of Devo's statements that had hurt her.

Rashmi - Yahan pe mai tere saath sabse close hoon to jab unhi ke statements tu bolegi to uska value zyada badh jaayega.

Devo - Par Rashmi mujhe jo lagega vo mai nahi bolungi to kaise chalega?

Rashmi - To baby tu mujhe personally bol na.

Devo - Maine bola hai tujhe personally bhi.

Rashmi - Kabhi kabhi tu aise bolti hai to mujhe hurt feel hota hai.

Throughout this convo both of them maintained a calm tone, Rashmi focused on what Devo's actions made her feel, Devo didn't immediately get defensive, they gave each other the time to say their piece, and listened patiently.

Now if we compare this to the other prominent duo Sidharth-Asim, the reason their friendship reached the point of having a violent argument for hours becomes even clearer. Asim never really voiced his issues (like the cream, ring problem) and on the rare occasion that he spoke up Sid would jump to the defence (let's play solo, etc). They kept sweeping their problems under the rug so eventually these little problems added up and exploded.

Unke jhagde ya disagreement suljhane ki koshishein always involve impatience, listening to responsd as opposed to listening to understand, raised voices and a lack of accountability.

These recent taunts and arguments over the silliest issues (like a soap🤔) are just a manifestation of all the hurt and resentment they feel right now. Had they just had mature, heart-to-hearts since the beginning this wouldn't have happened at all.

Disclaimer - I may or may not like their individual personalities and gameplay but I've always admired their friendship. The purpose of this post isn't to throw shade at any of them. I'm not saying that Rashmi and Devoleena are perfect nor am I implying that Sidharth and Asim are awful people. Also, I'm not talking about how much content they deliver. This post is only about their conflict resolution skills and not how they are as people or as gamers.😊

Shukla & Asim are strong competitors of each other. Rashmi & Devo aren't competing against each other. That makes a big difference in the conversation style & resolution.

It's not just Asim Sid problem it all people problem bcoz Sid does not listen. If you think about it Asim Shefali could have gotten in a big argument but they talked about it and the discussion wasn't swept under the floor reasons were given and sorrys were said. As for Sid he just doesn't want to communicate .

Last night vim bar wasn't supposed to go fight way ! Asim has been trying to slowly be friendly with Sid bcoz afterall they oops I should say Asim said sorry . But Sid is adamant that Asim has to leave behind himanshi and Shefali why should he leave behind his friends , Asim and Sid can be friends despite shefali and Himanshi . Because Asim did even though he did not understand the reason Sana was taken back he still remained friends with Sid. So Asim is still trying last night he was in a funny mood was it obvious from from the clip but Sid just thinks Asim wants to fight and Asim have problem with Sid and blah blah blah . Conflict issues can only be solved if someone wants to communicate but if a person does not wanna listen to you . No friend can solve those issues.

Hmm you have a point. Plus Rashmi doesn't seem like a confrontational person. Sid and Asim are very similar in the fact that they are both hot headed and kinda stubborn. So even though they seem to genuinely like and care for each other, kabhi na kabhi unka jhagda hona hi tha.

Aggressive Devo bhi hai but Rashmi is calmer. Isliye unke jhagde utne bhayankar nai jaate, for example, when Devo was mad at Rashmi for giving her dreeses to Sana she pretty much threw a tantrum but Rashmi kept quite. Phir baad me shayad thande dimag se suljha li hogi problem but uss time baat zyada badhne nahi di.😛

Good point. I admire rash devo fship. Even though I hate rashmi There is the only friendship which have stood test of time.

Sid asim cld very well learn from rash devo how to resolve conflicts .

Sid seems to be the "my way or the high" way kind of person. He has been hypocritical too and often talked down to Asim and Arti (not to Sana though), Asim ki jagah koi bhi hota to hurt hota hai. Par aisa bhi nahi hai ki 100% galti Sid ki hi hai.

@ red - Here I disagree, Asim ko kaafi bura laga tha Sana ka vaapas aana aur ye baat usne jhagde me boli bhi thi. In fact ye ek bohot bada reasons bhi tha unke fall out ka. Phir usi jhagde me usne Sid aur uske beech ka Arti vaala convo bhi bol diya jo Sid ko bura laga jisse conflict aur badh gaya. Iss incident ke baad se kahin na kahin Sid ka bharosa uth gaya Asim se. (Mere hisaab se bhi vo galat tha kyonki agar koi aapko confidence me leke koi baat bole to jhagda hote hi sabke saamne uski chugli kar dena is cheap IMO. Khaskar tab jab aap bhi uss convo ka hissa the aur sehmat the.)

you gotta notice the difference they are all different personalities, the girls especially Rahsmi is very calm and knows how to handle herself, Devo is too in comparison to Sid who just goes batshit has very little communications skills Asim knows how to talk when he's sober and not excited he can play it calm and he is more articulate than Shukla too.
