Yeah, just to add to the Salman likes Asim theory 😆, the second Weekend episode (sunday night) had a way more relaxed atmosphere. Especially with the panel, Salman was very happily agreeing that Shukla took it way too far. I think its a combination of three main things:
- Asim being a nobody shooting up in popularity without the channel's persistence. This goes a long way, especially for people like Salman who has been a star for so long that he is jaded with the channel/production house manipulation.
- Asim's guts to stand up to the guy who everyone (like Paras, Mahira, Vishal) had figured out they should be with to get preferential treatment. Even during the first Sid-Asim mini fight, Salman praised Asim as being 'real.' That word suggests that Salman (or maybe the channel) appreciated Asim's guts to do something he wanted at a point where others were starting to settle for secondary positions for the sake of saving their asses on weekends.
- The way Asim handled himself in the katghera, and calmly defended himself by articulating examples of Shukla's bullying behavior. I'm sure even Salman appreciated that he might be battameez sometimes, but in the right scenario, he can defend himself in a patient way as well.
Anyway, this is all a random theory that is snowballing out of control and can be proven dead wrong next weekend itself hahah. If Salman has really liked Asim though, we know what he can do for his career. To find a mentor who is not only as powerful/successful/influential as Salman, but also one who is a well-known dilwala who has a reputation of sticking with his projects even past many rounds of failure (like Sooraj Pancholi, who doesn't even have Asim's natural swag and charisma in his pinky finger😆) so early in your career - the sky is the limit!
