I was flicking through various forums and I came across the nomination list for this years television awards. Frankly speaking, I was very surprised. Bhaskar Bharti has been nominated for two categories: best director and best comedy serial. However, not even a single actor has been nominated. My reaction....well, this emoticon should sum it up > 😲
I am extremely shocked that the wonderful actors of BB have been ignored and have not even been nominated. I would have expected to see Ragini Khanna nominated for best actress, Aamir Ali for best actor, Aanchal for best supporting actress and Vivek Mushran for best actor in a comic role. In my opinion, these three actors SHOULD have been in the list of nominees. This is not just a BB fan speaking, because I genuinely believe that they DESERVE nominations at LEAST. Some of them on the list are less deserving in comparison to the BB actors (just my personal view) They can give any of them a run for their money.
Ragini Khanna: If I am correct, BB is her second serial (after Radha ki betiyaan) and already she has proven herself as an actress. Ragini has shown that she is very versatile and is able to convey diffrerent types of emotions with ease. Whether it is comedy, romance, emotional scenes...Ragini has acted out all those scenes so beautifully. And her expressions are always spot on, she delivers exactly what is required for each scene. I also applaud her for carrying off two roles, because there have been times when she has to show the 'Bhaskar' side and then switch to Bharti, which she has done effortlessly. She is not just an attractive girl. She has been blessed with a great deal of talent. I firmly believe that Ragini is one of the best leading ladies from soapland today.
Aamir Ali: Aamir has really impressed me in BB. He has really evolved as an actor and BB is proof. Armaan is a subtle character and it needs to be portrayed in a particular way to get it right. And methinks that this role is tailor-made for Aamir. He has portrayed the role of a mild-mannered, unlucky in love single parent very well. And he has also excelled in the scenes that he has done, showing a wide range of emotions. Whether Armaan has been joyful, hurt, angry, sorrowful or in a romantic mood, Aamir has expressed it very convincingly. Just like Ragini, he is able to carry off both light hearted and serious scenes with ease. Armaan has gone through quite a change in the show and has shown different shades to his personality. And Aamir has conveyed all those shades with a great deal of sincerity.
Aanchal & Vivek Mushran: Aanchal deserves a nomination too because she has really supported Ragini very well and has portrayed the role of 'peppy Payal' very nicely. She has definitely contributed to the show. Same goes for Vivek. He deserves a nomination for his portrayal of Amarjeet Chaddha, a classic character that is not only funny because of the one-liners. It is also funny because of Vivek's wonderful expressions and screen presence.
Why the cast of BB have been sidelined, who knows. But what I do know is that awards are always dodgy and I have always felt that awards can never be trusted. That's just my opinion and I'm not saying that the actors nominated are not worthy of it. I just think that BB actors being ignored is surprising and if they had to choose ONE person at least, I would have said that Ragini deserves it. I would go as far as saying that she has been robbed of an award. This girl is dynamite....
