Chapter17~ Truth Triumphs
Pratap was fallen on the ground, thinking hard what to do now.
He felt helpless and short of plans when Shakti Singh and MSJ jumped in to rescue.
Dadabhai! Get up Dadabhai! Come on we cannot lose now.
Ajabde: Get up Ranaji. I know you can do it. As soon as her voice hit his ears, he felt a fresh gush of energy.
As he got up, the sun could be seen setting in the background.
It was just a matter of few hours before Maldev met his end.
But the question was: How??
Shakti jumped in between Pratap and Maldev.
Go from here Dadabhai and Bhabhisa!
You both need to find a way to end him. Let me handle him.
Pratap was thinking what to do when Ajabde got hold of his hand and dragged him away. She knew him well- he won't budge from there.
But with Maldev being all powerful, they needed to reach the scroll and find a solution.
They entered the Palace when Shakti was keeping Maldev busy.
Heer had kept it safe from attacks and she waiting for them to arrive.
Heer: Here Bhabhisa... Take this
As Heer started to leave, Ajabde gave her her sword. Even she wasn't clear about why she was doing it but she just felt like giving it away to Heer.
She ran away from there towards the exit.
Pratap: Aree where is she going?
Ajabde: Let her go Ranaji... She is going where she truly belongs.
Heer ran towards Shakti who was injured by now as he faced Maldev's fury. His goal was to exhaust him before he met Pratap.
After realising that Maldev had become powerful beyond his reach, he tried to distract him.
Heer reached them and they communicated through eyes.
We need to escape... Maldev should get busy chasing us.
The nature supported his idea and soon a dusty storm rose blinding everyone.
Shakti and Heer ran towards the Forest.
Maldev grinned in anger and frustration as his petty prey escaped.
His power made made him irrational and wild. He lost the sense of logic and blindly ran in their direction with the morgues in tow.
Meanwhile Shakti was too exhausted. His wounds were hurting and he was out of breath. He sat supported by a tree trunk with Heer kneeled beside him.
Heer started to think when she felt Maldev approaching. He held her hand and his eyes said as if their end was near.
They would die but not like cowards, not without giving a fight.
She was thinking what would Pratap and Ajabde do when even they will die... Maldev wouldn't leave them.
She was struck with an idea at that moment. What if they died as Pratap and Ajabde? Maldev would be happy and end his search. He could also become careless in his victory and then they would get an opportunity to strike. Besides, what better death could they ask for?
They were in a pair. It was nightfall. The vision was not very clear in the jungle.
But how could she make Maldev believe that they were the Maharana and Maharani of Mewar?
She thought again and again when she remembered her Bhabhisa had given her her sword. She was holding it still. What more proof was required to become Baijilal?
Shakti resembled Pratap a lot. Both were wounded at the moment and Shakti also wore the Royal brooch of Mewar in his pagri.
Heer told him her plan and he was more than ready to accept it.
They stood up holding each other's hand.
They were ready to face Maldev in his eyes.
They both stood there for a while as Maldev's morgues could be seen approaching.
They attacked them with all their might.
As Maldev came, they became more determined. Maldev stood in front of an extremely tired and wounded Shakti.
Maldev: He knocked him down by punching him.
"Ranaji!!" Shrieked Heer, hoping he would believe her.
That word echoed in his ears...Pratap was lying half dead in front of him. He was lucky today.
Shakti got up and attacked again. Maldev moved away and let his morgues satisfy their thirst for blood.
The Morgues killed him. He himself became a morgue...as was the custom.
Heer shrieked transforming him into a beast. She tried to kill Maldev when she was pushed down by five morgues and they killed her.
She too became like them.
Both these souls were lost today...they had sacrificed themselves for Matrubhoomi. As they were left like morgues...
Maldev smirked: This happens Pratap and Baijilal when you face the Devil. I didn't kill you as I wanted to see you as a morgue... So devilish and blood thirsty.
He laughed and proceeded from there.
Meanwhile Pratap had asked the scroll about Maldev's end.
Pat came a reply:
When all the elements of Nature will combine,
When there is plenty of sun shine,
Go to the sacred shrine,
When the hour will be divine,
Wipe the Devil along with his crime.
Sun shine... They had to wait till sunrise.
They ran to the jungles before Maldev arrived there. They only had MSJ with them.
Pratap couldn't find Heer and Shakti so he understood what would have happened.
Pratap: I failed today Ajabde, failed as a brother ,as a leader, as a King.
She too was feeling to the same but she couldn't be weak now.
Rana Punja arrived there and treated Pratap's wounds-- he had a fresh fight to face.
Maldev arrived in the Palace in all his glory. He was victorious but the blood problem hadn't been solved.
As the sun rise approached, his powers were lost and morgues were hungry again. But now he didn't care- Pratap was over. Now even if they died out of hunger he didn't care.
He went around the Palace , observing its grandeur. But what he observed it now that it was empty. The blank walls stared at him.
Man is a social animal. He cannot live by himself. Maldev realised that the hunger for power had left him devoid of everything. His soldiers were dead, he had killed his own granddaughter and now there was noone left to even celebrate his win. For whom had he done so much? For himself?
He found himself alone on this path now. Realization dawned on him that the greed for gaining everything had actually left him with Nothing.
"Khamma Gani Hukum!...PR...tap stands at the gate and is calling for you.
Maldev felt weak inside and he felt that he nothing to fight for now. He wanted peace and a satisfaction. He walked towards the gate in a trance as his soldiers looked on.
He somehow wanted freedom this time...freedom from everything. Even from himself.
He walked towards Pratap and Ajabde who were holding each other's hand and standing like a wall.
As he stepped on the ground from the Mahal gate, the Sun's Rays hit the ground. It dawned a dawn that was never seen so far. The Sun's Rays spread their splendour all around as the barren lend became bright.
Maldev wanted to fight only to die.
He called his morgues and ordered them reluctantly to kill them which even he knew wasn't possible.
Pratap punched him in a go.
The Bhils had joined them and currently had an upper hand over the morgues in the guidance of Chundawatji and Rana Punja.
As Maldev fell down, Pratap dragged him to the Kali Temple(the sacred shrine).
The Prophecy was about to hold true. The bloodshed was becoming fruitful... All these sacrifices hadn't gone in vain.
Ajabde was already waiting for them there. As she stepped in the Temple, the sky thundered and a heavy gush of rain descended the Earth.
She picked up the Kali Maata's trident from the Idol and moved towards Maldev.
As she reached him,a dust storm rose. The bells of the Temple started ringing vigorously due to the wind. As the Bhils launched fire arrows to kill morgues, the sky was filled with heat and rain both.
It was ironical that all this was happening, water and fire had combined. Well it seemed All the the elements of Nature had combined to end the evil at the divine hour.
Maldev kneeled down in front of her. Her gaze was too powerful for him to bear it.
He felt weak inside and wanted Death.
As he looked up after gathering courage, he was left dumbstruck.
He could see a divine goddess in front of him. Maa Adishakti had descended for his freedom. There was so much of light that the darkness in him was all gone.
Ajabde raised the Trident as his hands folded in respect and awe.
His head rolled off to Pratap's feet.
The Prophecy was fulfilled-- the evil had ended.
Ajabde felt heavy and sat down with a Thud.
All around her she could see dead bodies. Killing people doesn't result in joy in ANY way. Ajabde felt guilty and remorseful. All her loved ones were gone.
For whom will she live? For Pratap only?
But all his fears disappeared as the sight in front her startled her.
A heavenly light descended. Maldev's body gave out black smoke. All the evil was leaving the Earth.
The morgues who lay dead turned into people back which they indeed were.
Shakti and Heer rose to life again.
It was then she remembered the lines of the Prophecy-
Everything will rise from dust,
New birth will be given by dead.
All those who had been killed by morgues rose up in disbelief and awe.
The evil had gone...The Prophecy was fulfilled.
Total destruction is inevitable,
Try what you may.
Those who have caused disgrace,
With blood they will have to pay.
When the battleground is devoid of mortals,
And those gone whose souls have rust,
Two solemn leaders will remain,
And everything will rise from dust.
Death cannot separate true lovers,
Present will be guided by the past,
New birth will be given by the dead,
New life by those who will remain till last.
EPILOUGE
Pratap and Ajabde continued to be the Maharana and Maharani of Mewar for many peaceful years. Though the united soul feeling had ended, they didn't believe it was over for them.
Pratap had to marry princesses for Political Alliances of course with Ajabde's permission. But it never ever changed their relationship. They were blessed with a Son- Amar who was every bit of a warrior like his Parents.
He was brave like his father and had his mother's heart of gold.
Shakti and Heer were crowned as the Maharana and Maharani of Marwar as even the people there needed them.
They were blessed with a beautiful daughter Malti who looked just like Heer.
Patta, Khetu and Jaimal's bronze statue shone bright in the Mewar Palace courtyard in Chittor as everyone had shifted there now.
JB's statue stood in the Poorvaj Room along with Suryavanshi Ram's Idol.
It was mysteriously believed that Pratap and Ajabde could still feel her presence.
As another day dawned in Mewar, the skies were again filled with Jai Eklingji! Jai Mewar.
Again today someone was coronated. It was Maharana Amar Singh this time.
Maharana Amar Singh ki Jai! Maharani Aarti Bai ki Jai!
Hope you like the beautiful end to this beautiful story...
With love,
Mahishee😃😃
