Lal Bahadur Shashtri - He made the famous slogan : JAI JAWAN, Jai KISAN!!

Lal Bahadur Shastri
1736 Lal Bahadur Shastri cropped.jpg
2nd Prime Minister of India
In office
9 June 1964 ' 11 January 1966
He was perhaps the most efficient PM of India; He was the PM when India was victorious against Pakistan in 1965, before becoming PM, He was the first railway minister who resigned from office following a major train accident as he felt moral responsibility; he died while in office while in Tashkent (now Uzbekistan), He was going to sign a deal with Pakistan, that they will never use force against India again; it is believed that he was poisoned, the Indian government will not till date make public any post mortem report! My grandmother says that if he had remained PM, India would have been better off today!
