Wow, a very well written and insightful piece Jpal!

Never thought about the doors being a metaphor like that in this show, reminds me of how in Roman mythology, the god Janus (January comes from this) is the god of doors, gates and is also the god of "beginnings and transitions (see wiki) (much like the month of Jan is)." I guess we'll be seeing the beginning of a new Runjhun hopefully, and a transition into a proper married life for Guddu-Runjhun soon.

Interesting, this makes me think of that great scene when RJ comes to bail Guddu out of jail and take back her statement

Nicely conceived, Guddu hangs on his jail cell door and watches Runjhun as she talks to the police officer. Intensity of both characters here are off the charts in their gazes. Guddu's arms literally grasp both sides of the jail cell door and he hangs in the center of the jailway entry. Very powerful as he is on the cusp of a decision

Guddu has 2 choices or beginnings at this moment
a. accept Runjhun freeing him and making peace with her
b. reject her offer to help, keep his anger, begin his revenge on her

I never thought about doors in such a way, but now that you mention it I will pay more attention. I really want to see that scene where Runhjun will close the door just to be alone with Guddu. I think she did that once: when she came crying in their room after she spoke with Mahadevi about Jabbo. I think she needs to be alone with him only when she is pain, because she knows that he will help her, but we want to see her doing that when she is also happy.

Oooh Etna, I forgot that scene when Runjhun comes in and slams the doors behind her. She actually leans on the door crying. Yes, and Guddu melted immediately

JP I read your post again and thought that Doors also signifies freedom. If you go out of the door the new world is waiting and you are free to chose at the same time when you enter through a door you leave the outer world outside and look for the safety inside the familier environment and freedom to express yourself .

But Runjhuns life is like she is constantly standing at the threshold since whichever way she chose the door closes and she miss out on the other side.

Like in fridays episode if she chose Guddu she misses her mama mami and if she goes to mama mami she loses Guddu.

She is a girl who is afarid of seperations. She lost her parents in early childhood and now the safety that she has with mama mami and amma is also is thretens by Guddu as per Mitho mami. She cant bear that seperation Guddu is very new in her life and still the door as such is open but for her to decide what to choose.

That is interesting. I will pay more attention

The great threshold scene is of course when RJ returns the cricket ball through the gate to Gudu. The gate is there between them, but there is contact

Love that scene when Guddu pulls Runjhun by the hand through the gates to burn Abhi's clothes. Here he wants to purify her mind of feelings that she has for Abhi so that he can claim her (subliminally). But he leaves and she is left crying by the gate. Again she is at the threshold

The scene when Guddu "dies" we see RJ looking in the door of the room. For a moment she believes that Guddu has left her again on the threshold. This time he may have passed on and she is left with the living

Guddu tries to take her for the first time after learning of her bhag and refuses to enter PN.There is a gate between them in this scene as he talks to her and desperately wants her to be free from the evil.

The Tere Masti video also shows him trying to take her at the gate with flowers and she does not open the gate. She is again at the threshold

It is endless...

Az & JP love these ones on threshold too.👏

Thank you guys for showing a different way to look at things.
I'm getting bit carried away with all these interpretation of metaphors, started looking for hidden meaning in everything now, much like an Indian /Red Indian.😆

I love this forum.👍🏼

JP i just could not resist it.😊

Today Runjhun actually opened the door to run to Guddu and he embraced her.
It is from the otherside of the door that people comment how much they love eache other.

Inside the door its three people Kukkan Runjhun and Guddu who are afraid of whats coming.

The door has been opened and the threat of oncoming danger is looming.

This door was closed but now is opened.

Today again the door fetured.

Guddu closed the door and then they had that beutiful moment in the rain togather.
Then she leaves Guddu with his desiers on the lower lavel and herself on the porch a bit higher ground. She has her back towards him.

In earlier episodes we saw that Guddu used to watch her back a lot now he is turning her towrda him and want answeres.

This difference in their standing and thinking is very clear. Runjhun is thinking of herself as the seeker of truth and looks down on Guddu who is asking for love, Runjhun sees herself abov Guddu and here we see that she puts him on a lowere level and made him feel it too.

He regains his wits and standing besides her and ask for ansewers but she refuses.

Then again they are at the theshold Guddu on his bike now he is higher then her but still on eye level.

Now they have their home in the background and both are outside the door. Do they go inside again and start over or this fight breaks their relation?
