I think he noticed it after their marriage too. I think Runjhun's personality confuses him. How can someone sit so silently and give till she can no more but never complain. He tells Amma that Runjhun allows herself to be tortured. He can't understand why when she can be so stubborn and strong willed, she can also at the same time close herself from reacting to things around her. It's almost like sometimes Guddu tries to push her buttons so she will push back, and so far it hasn't worked.
They still waters run deep and Runjhun is a very still water where as Guddu is the storm that pushes and rages trying to create a tidal wave in the water, but so far no luck. Runjhun has pushed herself so far from reaction that he will really have to reach deep within to get her out, and for that it might take him a while. If you truly think about it, Runjhun in some ways doesn't know how to receive affection just like in some ways Guddu doesn't know how to. They both transfer their feelings as something else.
I know the way Runjhun brings Amma in her thoughts, and worries what Amma will think, what Amma will say is bothersome to see for many, but Runjhun has only known this way to show affection. Guddu once said that Runjhun is the reflection of her Amma, and in some sense Runjhun sees herself as Amma's reflection, and can be only happy when Amma is. Amma has slowly pushed Runjhun away, but for Runjhun she represents comfort and her safety zone.
Runjhun has to become stronger and I don't mean develop a backbone strong, she needs to pull out of the shell she's created, and hopefully learn to react to the wrong that is committed against her. Hopefully Guddu will be her support system to get her there. She's already started reacting, and speaking up more, but still its more because of others, and not for herself, but she'll eventually get there.
I think in the next few episodes we're going to see Guddu standing by her, being her shield till she learns to bear the weight on her own. I think till Runjhun isn't strong she can't handle the revelation of her own fortune. I think Guddu and Runjhun will slowly start understanding each other more. Guddu might think that he's the only one who doesn't understand Runjhun, but he is as misunderstood. Runjhun doesn't completely understand Guddu either. She doesn't understand her own affections for Guddu. The way she cares and worries for him. The way she can sense his presence (twice now) when they're not together. She's become attuned to him, even though she's always had a sense of Guddu (their second touch really where they both seek blessing and ring the bell and the third touch when he places his hand under hers at the wedding).
For some reason they've always been tied together without realizing why, be it curiosity, be it revenge, be it anger. Their paths are tied to each other. Guddu asks if Runjhun is fortunate why is she married to him. Neither realize what a blessing they've been granted in each other. They are each others strength, each others salvation and in many ways kindred spirits even in their differences because all they both really require to be happy is simple love.
Someday both will realize that and every nuance of the story has been to focus on that, to eventually but slowly lead to these two coming together, learning about each other, and truly understanding each other, maybe it will take them both a lifetime, but isn't that what marriage is about. Spending time understanding each other, talking to each other, working as a joint unit, while still being able to retain their individuality. They have a long ways to go, but they also have quite a lifetime left to understand each other...little by little...
