Controversy queen Shilpa Shinde who has been in news for moving out of her popular show Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hai on &TV is apparently in a soup after being banned by CINTAA (Cine and TV Artistes Association). As per the recent reports in media, CINTAA has decided to issue a non-cooperation directive against the actress, post which no broadcaster and producer will be allowed to work with her. However, there is no decision taken yet by the FWICE (Federation of Western India Cine Employees).
But truly, her future as an actress seems to be under severe threat.
In an exclusive interview , the actress spoke about the ban, allegations and more...
There is news about you being banned by CINTAA. So what do you have to say?
It is utter nonsense. CINTAA is an artist association; how can they work according to the producer. If an artist is having problems, it is their responsibility to solve the issues. But in this case, they are forcing me to get back to the show.
So are you scared of anything or will this action affect your career?
I am not scared of anything. Sher ko billi bana ke dara rahe hai (They do not know how strong I am). I have a query here. Why is a producer never banned when there is any dispute?
Do you feel you are being forced to get back to the daily?
Yes, of course. I have done good shows and I am a good actress, and they cannot do this to me. They are actually forcing me at gun point.
Will you return to TV?
I don't want to return to small screen. They wouln't need to ban me, as I am only banning them.
With the producers body banning you, do you think the industry will support you?
I want to share one incident wherein after I had quit Bhabhiji, Vipul D Shah called me and offered me a role for his show Comedy Nights Live. On the other hand I got an offer from Kapil Sharma's show. Later, Vipul told me to choose his show over Kapil's show. Having said this, I was not very keen on taking Vipul's show; so he ended up joining Benaifer and started supporting her. This industry is unbelievable.
There were rumours about you joining the Kapil Sharma show; so what is the update?
It did not happen. They have completely gone the illegal way and forced me not to be part of any show.
As you have faced a lot of problems what advice do you have to give to the new comers who are joining the industry?
I would just say that you will get work so never sign a one-sided contract. Don't make a producer rule over you.
Lastly, what are you planning to do now?
I am going the legal way. Let them send me a notice; I will show them what I can do. The law will decide the further actions. I am going to send a legal notice to CINTAA as well. How dare they can take this action, they have to answer all this in court.

If the Pratyusha Banerjee suicide case has been giving you sleepless night, time to recall another big controversy that hit headlines recently.
Team of Bhabhiji Ghar Par Hai, &TV's most popular show, woke up to a major shock when the lead actress Shilpa Shinde decided to call it quits.
Shilpa, who alleged that the producers (Binaifer Kohli) and the channel were harassing her with inhumanly work conditions, was adamant on breaking all ties with them. On the other hand, the makers were not ready to let her go. After numerous failed attempts with discussions and meetings, they finally sent her a legal notice.
And when nothing of these bore any fruits, the team approached CINTAA (Cine and TV Artistes Association), FWICE (Federation of Western Indian Cine Employees) and IFTPC (Indian Film and Television Producers Council) to get them respite.
The members strictly asked Shilpa to return to her show and stick to her exclusive' contract conditions. But it seemed, the actress had made up her mind and she did not budge from her space.
Now, in the wake of new developments, media reported that the committees have gone ahead to issue a non-cooperative directive against Shilpa. This means that no producer or broadcaster will be allowed to work with her. This step is said to be formed to imbibe discipline among all.
Amit Behl, Chairman, Dispute Committee, CINTAA shared, "We work for the welfare of artists and thus it is disappointing to see that our support is not being reciprocated. Shilpa has blocked our numbers and is not responding to our calls and messages. Our hands are tied and we have to take an action to sort out the issues finally."
When we buzzed Shilpa (complete interview coming) she quipped, "CINTAA is for the artists and it is ridiculous that they are supporting the producers and not understanding my point of view. How can they decide to ban me? I have decided to get back to them the legal way. I really wonder why no producer is ever banned; actors only suffer when it comes to any dispute."
When we informed the same to Dilip Pithva, General Secretary, FWICE, he stated, "Producers will be banned if they decide to work with her. That should answer Shilpa's query."
"We are waiting for the letter from the producers association before we send out the notice. TV is a small industry and we want peace prevailing on every set. We are keen to dissolve the matter but Shilpa is not ready to meet and that is causing the hindrance," he added.
General Secretary, CINTAA, Sushant Singh also shared, "The three bodies have come together to form the disciplinary directive so that there is no blackmail and arm twisting happening on any shows."
And finally producer Binaifer Kohli stated, "I am thankful that the entire industry has come together and supporting us. Also hats off to &TV for being patient with us and supporting us even when we don't have one of our leads currently. Rest, I think I have spoken and shared my ordeal to the world."
