For Mahisharua it was his perception that a woman cannot defeat him, Durga broke it. A woman himself defeated it.

For Mahishi it was her belief that son of Hari and Hara is not possible, ie son of Vishnu and Shiva. But Vishnu becomes Mohini and Ayyappa is born and her death comes to her.

For Ravana his boon was he will not be killed humans and monkeys as he considered them far less powerful to kill a powerful man like him. Narayan comes as Ram crossing the ocean, along with Rudra's amsavatar Hanuman and finishes off that perception.

If you go to Hiranyakashyapu how many of his perceptions Narayan breaks with Narasimhaavatar. This man had the boon he will not be killed during day and night, neither inside nor outside, neither man or animal, nor devas or asuras, neither on earth nor on sky, neither with hands nor with weapons. Narasimha comes at dusk, takes him to threshold, keeps him on his lap, and kills him with his nails. The most painful death you can imagine.

So if you take any mytho story it is not good over evil. It is the idea of perceived truth vs actual truth. It always shows asuras has perceived truths and Narayan's job is to ensure that perceived truth meets its end at the right time.

And it depends on what concept you take, you will see the perceived truth and actual truth of the situation.

If it is Vijayadashami it is the victory of feminine over masculine. If it is Dusshera it is the victory of a man over an asur, if you take Diwali, it is celebrated as Ram returning to Ayodhya or freedom for those ladies from Narakasura's prison , basically it is returning of light after darkness. Freedom after captivity.

Sanathana Dharma has its concepts, and each story, each festival is connected with the concept. That's why there are so many stories, but in the end everything is about freedom from darkness, freedom from illusions, freedom from perceived truth.

So beyhadh is in its own league, basically because of the very weak characterization of Saanjeshwari Devi and the pendulum Arjun whom we are not sure what he wants. Aaj Maya tho Kal Saanjh.

When I thought about comparing with Darr, it was only restricted to 'darr' part!
I mean, kiran was really s*it-scared, when Rahul was chasing her, after her marriage with Deol!
Will Maya also be scaring Saanjh to death, before she meets her final end like Sharukh khan had?
Maya may not be able to kill Saanjh or Arjun! But she can knock out the s*it, by scaring them every day! If they are dying every minute, it completes her badala!
We may have roughly 15 episodes after shadhi track gets over!
Will JW be able to re-create & bring back the memorable performance by Sharukh Khan?
That was a master class portrayal then by Sharukh! JW did a wonderful presentation of Maya till she went to Jail! Now, is the opportunity to finish off her character in great style & also with lasting impact!

@aditi without Ram, how can you say Ravan. That is first thing we have to understand. Ravan is bad because Ram the Maryada Purushottam is there. If you remember my SKR analysis I had written the path crossing of both Ram and Ravan.

This was one of Maya's famous quotable quotes when she made an attempt on Jhanvi's life, some time back, by trying to drown her in bath tub!
Now, history is set to repeat itself even as the tables are turned!
A biological mother (Jhanvi is otherwise not interested in owning up Maya as her daughter!) of Maya is bribing the jailor to finish off her blood-daughter in Jail as she wants to protect her another daughter, Saanjh, never mind even if she is only an adopted one!
What can one say about that? Is it a weird motherly love?
Or, Jhanvi is just proving that her surname is also a notorious Mehrotra, keeping a family trait intact!
She might not succeed in her mission but surely her criminal intent & act is not going to help her live long!
If Maya is punished for murdering someone, then Jhanvi too is no less a criminal and hence invites herself to be punished!
And so, no doubt, Jhanvi's time is up! Maya will make sure Jhanvi too pays her dues!
In Beyhadh land, Justice system works amazingly pretty efficient!
The only complaint is going to be a disproportionate sense of punishment to crimes committed!
If you commit one murder, you will also get your due, without holding back anything!
Rajiv killed only one person -Prem, so he was killed!
Vandana allegedly caused the death of Bandar! So, she had to die!
Ashwin tried to kill Arjun! so, he too died!
But, Maya killed how many? 3 or 4 or more, as the tally keeps only mounting over her life time. . .
And, she is destined to live in this world as long as she wishes to!
After all, she is like Bhishma! Not Bhishma. . . just like him!
The great patriarch of Panadvs & Gauravs, had one boon given by his father!
That is his death could come near to him only if & when he chose it!
So, Bhishma was lying in bed of arrows for nearly six months when he was defeated in his battle with Arjuna - waiting for a good time to die - after the epic war was over!
Hopefully, Maya may perhaps do a similar thing once her war with Arjun also comes to an end!

Till then, not jhanvi, not jailor, not any one can do anything to Maya!
It is Maya's writ running all the way in this world! Even, god is on her side! At least, that is what she said when the noose failed to tighten around her neck, at the last minute intervention of some unknown NGO, when the main victims of her crimes have no clue about it! Even the Jailor knows nothing as she mumbles while escorting Maya back to her cell!

By the way, Saanjh was supposed to be a criminal lawyer who pleaded against Maya in this case!

Things that attracted my attention today. Jhanvi had no money for security as Maya doesn't give her anything but came up with a hefty sum to bribe the jailor to kill her. She even came up wid two gold Kangans. If u love ur daughter so much u cud hv exchanged One of them for money and keptsecurity for your new daughter.

@lepcha exactly Jhanvi was telling no money for arranging Saanjh's security. But money came as well as the bangles, most importantly the khandhani bangles as far as I could remember were not given to Maya on her wedding day. If it is for the daughter of the house why not for Maya on her wedding day in season 1. Why. I cannot but go back to factfictionmyth suspicion of why Jhanvi met Arjun alone and ate butta, what did they talk.

Arjun going to call someone. Well I noted it completely. It was an interesting loophole. Exactly not a bit of sindoor in Saanjh's maang. Also did you notice Saanjh took the garland and threw away. When pheras happened she didnt had garland, not even when Arjun tied mangalsutra or put sindoor.

On that day too many events happened, in quick time!

So, it is possible that giving Kankan to Maya was perhaps the last thing on Jhanvi's mind under those weird circumstances!

Now, on the point of lack of adequate Sindhoor on the Maang of saanjh,
Can we assume, it became invisible as both Saanjh & Arjun were too scared of maya's threat?!
Remember what maya said!
The day Arjun places sindhoor on her forehead, Saanjh has to prepare herself for his last rites, too!
So, no sindhoor and no one will have to worry about Maya's threat!
But, still Saanjh is terrified!
She is condemned to start her marital life under fear of imminent death stalking Arjun, any moment, while Maya is condemned to live in Jail for her entire life, under constant thoughts of her failed marriage with arjun!
