I used to love maya character, a beautiful mess :)
A grey character rarely shown on Indian TV.

Her grey side was great to watch but they destroyed her character in season 2.
Maya season 2 is becoming like the usual vamp in saas bahu where there is no going back. Cvs completely took away her good side and is trying to show her as a black character simply and she has done so many wrong things that they cant revert to her grey character anymore. So she is just a saas bahu vamp with some style simply.

And of course no mention that, like in every indian serial, there need to be a devi, mahan devi I must say.. portrayed as white ( even if we all know that person is not completely white but hey SHE IS WHITE RIGHT?) , the sanskari bubbly girl who will save the day 😆
I'm sure you know we are talking about Saanjh and how she will fight her Arjun case, win him back haha and have a happy ending! 🤣

CVs can't handle a grey character and made a joke out of mental illness.

Feel free to disagree so that we can have a fruitful debate

Though i love maya but have to agree after season 2 started her character has turned dangerous not that before she was innocent or positive but now esp if they actually show that she planned to frame ayan then theres no going back. The obsessive side is TOO much

98% of the time I honestly dnt have a problem with how she is shown. this is her beyhadh. if her fans did not expect her to go this bad after season 1 i dnt know what most where watching and why u would want a sugar coated character. and those who hate her actions and complain ab her i dnt know why u even thought to watch the show in the 1st place u knew what to expect when u saw the promos and the initial episodes. To haters of Maya my advice is go and watch Gopi bahu coz it seems like that is the only character u want to watch. to fans of jenny who want maya to be shown good. go and watch saraswathie from the start again and be happy this show will not be on for much longer and she will get a show soon.

+1. Agree. This show is not for the faint-hearted. This is not about defending Maya, or her character getting redemption etc. Maybe she can, maybe she can't. It depends on what she has actually done to date and what will be revealed later.

Maya is a kickass character and different to any female I saw on Indian TV shows. I used to only watch Western shows, but since starting to watch Indian shows 6 years ago, never saw someone like Maya as a protagonist cum antagonist. She is based on Amy Dunne of Gone Girl. While you are chilled to the bone by what Amy does, you can't help but admire her mastermind. Maya is exactly like that. Season 1 showed Maya in her controlled and cool avatar.

In this season she is being shown more unhinged and even more obsessive and single-minded. The fact was, she tried to change, but no one seemed to really give her a chance, so she reverted back to her old ways and her way of being. She is the product of dysfunction and abuse that has gone to the extreme. At this point NO one can control her. Her Mother is wheelchair bound and her husband is completely at a loss on how to deal with her.

@TM: Stop worrying about what Devi will save the day and watch the show for the story. Maya is not a Vamp, she is the lead. I agree with you Sandiab, this show is about Maya, and Maya is the story. There is no point sugar coating the character of the protagonist. Good or bad, that is who they are. To me, watching Maya is like being on a roller coaster, I never know what next and how far we will fall or how fast we will go. This show is a Thriller! It is not a love story. Lets all face that and watch the show with that mindset. I dont think this show will bring a "Happy ending" for anyone. Neither should it. This show should have a "real ending". The kind we get in real life.

.
I always knew Maya would be like this, at some point. The indications were always present. I don't even understand how people even thought otherwise. This show is a dark thriller - not a romance saga for the love of God! If there was any antagonist - it was Maya. With Ashwin's death, it became all the more clear.

My only issue is the incorporation of her terrible, goosebumb inducing past. When you're showing a lead to have such awful childhood, naturally people will root for a better, happy future for that character. If Maya were to turn this black, there was absolutely no need to include a terrible childhood saga. One does not need a bad childhood to develop any sort of mental disorder let alone psychopathy. Many people are born sociopath/psychopath and Maya could have been one of them.

If she's going to frame someone, that's irredeemable in my eyes, considering she hasn't killed, which she's very much capable of though.

I agree and disagree with you so some extent. To start from the beginning I would say that
Maya wasn't wrong when she risked her life to save Arjun
Maya wasn't wrong when she protected her mom for all these years
Maya wasn't wrong wHen she jumped In the water to save Arjun
Maya wasn't wrong when she fixed Arjun and Vandana's relationship. (That was before Arya wedding).
Maya wasn't wrong when she saved Ayaan from the police
Maya wasn't wrong when she genuinely tried to change for the better. This was after her marriage with Arjun. This has started with Vandana's 24/7 taunts, humiliations, insulting her in the public and throwing garbage on her. Then it was Saanjh who called Arjun at the late night to the restaurant despite being told not to be the third wheel between them. Maya was nice to Arjun and Saanjh till that time. Even Arjun has not behaved responsibly due to which she had to fit the CCTV's everywhere in the house. Yes, I agree that it is a height of insanity.

When Maya genuinely wanted to be nice, she has been pushed to that muck instead of encouraging her to be a better person. I agree with you on the last but not the least in one of the lines, which you have mentioned that CVs cannot a gray character has been made a joke of mental illness. It is very much true as it will pass a wrong message to the society, as a result of which, no parent would take their child to the psychiatrist. If that happens, the parents would not encourage their children to become one. Whatever work a person does, money is the bottom line.

If the cvs prove Ayaan innocent like how they proved Vandana right, I won't be surprised. I would still say that her ways are wrong. As for the intentions, both Maya & Vandana's intentions are right. Vandana is interested in Arjun's well-being & Maya wanted to live in peace & harmony with Arjun & his family. The most disgusting thing is whatever mistakes other characters make, the cvs redeem them. They can also redeem Maya if they want. they have made her negative in an unconvincing way. Maya & arya supporters are the majority. So like me, all other Maya & Arya supporters are not convinced about the way they made her negative. There are many loose ends & unanswered questions as to what made Maya the way she is. What Arjun told Ayaan was from his side but what about Maya's side? Mentally ill or not is a separate case but I feel that before coming to conclusions, it is necessary to hear from the other side as well. One of the members here is ready to justify even Ashwin who is the actual villain of the show (Those who are doing that, need not take it personally). The CV's are doing injustice to Maya's character.
