Shruti, I used to comment on your threads a long while back, and then somewhere your views went on a completely different track, one I couldn't quite bring myself to identify with.
Nevertheless, you're entitled to your opinions, and I believe in "live and let live", so simply stopped responding on your threads.
Just responding this once because Darciny's question was something that I had too, but never bothered to ask, because the analysis you did reflected your lines of thought (the same what you've replied above)
I simply believe, you're holding Maya to a lesser standard because you've accepted her for what she is, and that makes you to see her actions in a more justifiable light.
On the contrary, you hold Vandana and Saanjh to far, far higher standards, and do not allow them the benefit of normal human mistakes. To feel the temptation of a mistake is human, but to not act on it, requires strength and mental fortitude, and that's where Saanjh's been reasonably good.
You believe that Maya would've changed if Vandana had accepted her begging at her feet- I'm not so sure, given her previous dialogues of "How does it matter" and Arjun has to live at my house only" when asked by Jhanvi about whether Arjun loved her. Maya's brain is wired in a way that sooner or later, she would've found VM and Ayaan troublesome (remember her reaction when Arjun said Ayaan is his "jaan"?), and would've found a way to separate Arjun from his family.
You mention Saanjh not thanking her for saving her, but didn't think about what Maya did to get Saanjh out of the way for the wedding, and Saanjh's actions after that (including buying honeymoon tickets out of her own money, and decorating the house for their arrival).
And they say, a first impression is a last impression- Vandana's first impression of Maya was the girl who broke the glass on seeing Arjun and Saanjh together.
