I like psychological thrillers! And that's what I signed up for.

I disagree a little bit about the cast though. Jenny is more or less okay as Maya - quite believable but she speaks in monotone. A little bit of voice modulation will add dimension to her acting. But absolutely adore the things she wears. Spot on for a businesswoman who is young and successful. The show badly needed a charming male lead. Kushal is a below average actor and has no charm whatsoever! It's a wonder that Maya could fall for someone like that. And Maya and ARjun hardly have any chemistry and that makes it difficult for me to watch their romantic scenes. Anyway these are strictly my POVs. All said and done, the show is still pretty watchable.

And it's just plain and simple juvenile how some fans are asking for a storyline change, coz they want a run of the mill love story. The show was always supposed to be about a mentally unstable person who is obsessive and dangerous. Why should it change? And the threats about making it go off air - I can only laugh! 😆

Ditto.. this being finite series has a pre-set storyline..they can tweak the episodes here and there but the concept will not change..and I want to see the original story..

For me, it was the first promo itself. I was like- finallly some legit dark stuffs. And kal ka epi is exactly what I ordered for.

:P
I don't care about the pairings be it ArYa or Saajun. I have been repeating this everywhere- but I just want the story to be thrilling, racy and a ratrace between arjun and maya- where arjun will be running for his sanity but Maya always is one step ahead. Like Sherlock ka finale. And for those wanting a happy ending for Maya- S4 ka finale also has a good one for Euros(Sherlock s4). She finally reconnects with her fam and gets sanity sukoon. So if something like that happens here, all viewer(most) will return home satisfied.
But the basic thing is- I want it to be thrilling. Maya going all crazy like today-and Arjun finally stopping to be a furniture. Mindgames, thrill. I hope they dont deviate from what we had kal ka epi mein.

Me neither.. don't want them to deviate.. Beyhadh is not a run of the mill romantic story..it is not.,.so people wanting ArYa romance will be disappointed.. there are enough of these romantic shows on air anyway.. Beyhadh is different and I want it to remain like that.. just one thing..I don't think Arjun is a furniture ( the character.., won't say about the actor :P) I think he is quite a player.. we'l see..

Except for d point that Jennifer Winget is average as Maya I agree to all ur points...Jenny is d ultimate Maya Mehrotra for me...And agree KT is d worst choice for Arjun...I too wonder what d two girls Maya & Saanjh had seen in him that they r crazy abt him!!!The last paragraph is so true...I was like what some ppl r asking!!!!This was always supposed to be a thriller...not a normal love story!!

The first promo intrigued me, and I was so happy to see finally seeing a show having a grey Herione, not some doormat and so called sacrificing. I had switched to American shows after getting so disappointed with how the heriones in all indian shows turn out to be after they fall in love with the male lead. They become doormats, take all crap from all villains, and what not. I was sick of it and wanted a realistic female character. So when I saw the promo, I was very happy. And, I loved the concept as well.

So basically the female lead character and the concept. The third which I liked was Jenny and Khusal's chemistry. I didn't use to like them, but I didn't care seeing the promos. I basically started loving Maya and ArYa right from promos before the show even started. Maya's character just in the promo made you intrigued.

One thing I didn't know and notice that there will a third wheel namely, Saanjh. She wasn't even in promos or promoted. Only in one she was for few seconds like the rest of supporting characters, so I didn't notice and care. They had promoted the show as ArYa as leads. Had I known there will be always such a painful character between the leads all the time to ruin most of the show and the episodes, I most likely would've not watched the show. But the show started, and I already started liking the show and now has to tolerate such an annoying pain which ruins the joy. :( But then nothing is perfect I guess !

Yeah.,..Indian daily soaps have a fixed format as far as female leads are concerned.. sacrificing and mostly girl next door who changes the bad guy.. not like I don't watch or like them.. i do.. but then why watch another of the same concept.. Sociopath female lead and Jennifer playing the role was my reason to start watching.. Kushal was not my reason to be honest.. I am fine with Aneri as an actor but the character can get annoying at times.. somehow I dislike people who pretend to have a high moral ground and act otherwise..

I signed up for Beyhadh because of PH. Cinevistaas is one of my favourite PHs. They had given a show like Junoon in late nineties which was a craze for teenagers like me of those days. It was something. Then there was Ghutan which was a good story but was stopped mid way in DD.

Then there was Ek Hazaron mein meri behna hai which I had loved. They had given one of the best male leads in Viren and a beautiful jeeju saali relation in Viren-Manvi. Yes it was about sisters Jeevika and Manvi but what I enjoyed most was Viren-Manvi.

Then came Ek Hasina Thi, a show that was class apart which gave Sakshi Goenka and Durga Thakur. It was edge of a seat thriller with Simone and Sanjeeda nailing it in every frame.

The PH Cinevistaas have a history of producing really classy shows and their female characters are class apart.

So I was sure when i signed up for Beyhadh I was not going to get some run of the mill romance, because the PH is known for pushing the envelope and have a track record of managing the thin line between right and wrong. Basically they are experts in giving grey characters.

So far Beyhadh has not disappointed me. It is a very intriguing tale.

Honestly I haven't seen any of the shows you mentioned.. though I have heard of them coz they are quite popular.. I am glad they decided to a finite series with a pre set story and ending.. otherwise daily soaps in India tend to get dragged for years and loose their edge and thrill in the process.. I am quite hooked to Beyhadh.. and I must add that I enjoy reading your posts and analysis on the show..

The subtle change of emotions that she portrays on screen requires great amount of voice modulation. Those scenes looks so good bcoz she is able to do that beautifully. Be it the Queen bee maya, vulnerable maya, romantic maya, insecure maya, possessive maya..she is equally good in every avatar...As far as chemistry with kushal is concerned, yes i agree it lacks that zing. But for that i dont think u can blame her entirely coz it takes two to tango and kushal's participation in most of the arya scenes before the last episode was zero.

But yesterday i could see that even he is trying to chip in and for a change i loved their pyar and junnon bhari takrar in the wrestling arena...:) Let's hope it's only going to get better from here :)
