Maya is not a protagonist. Not an antagonist.
She is THE only lead of the show tbh. Baaki all are supportinf characters. Story point of view mein tbh Maya is the main force and baaki sab are supporting.
But that doesn't mean she can't be a murderer just because she is the lead. Kaabil , Drishyam, Baazigar, Gupt, Darr, etc mein leads are murderers. Leads are not defined by moral grounds in a movie. Leads are those because of whom the story moves tbh. Leads are those without whom the show/movie is absolutely nothing.
And thus, Maya is the lead of the show. The lead.
Not even without considering or debating whether she is right or wrong, it is a fact that Maya is the lead. She may be right. She may be wrongg. She may take the Kaabil way or the Gupt way. But she is the lead. That my friends is a fact.
Arjun, Ashwin, Saanjh, Vandana are the Johns and Mycrofts and Lestrades.
But no matter what the morality is - but Maya is the sherlock of this show.
(NOT to be confused with the science of deduction and all. I'm just speaking about the screenspace)
And honestly I don't even care what Maya's moral is. I love her. I love Arjun, and Sanjh and even Ashwin (okay not the child abuser part- but the way the have shaped up an antagonist- I mean y'all hate him- that is the success of the writing team. They've written it so aptly and Rajesh's acting too- that everyone loathes the character. And honestly what is Beyhadh without Maya and Ashwin's ratrace)
I love the show itself. And i dont give a flying f**k as to who ends up with whom or who gets killed as long as the story is dope.

Also, upar likha stuff is my views. Kisi ko problem hai toh can't help. But kuch aur POV hai toh feel free to comment.

Exactly.
Beyhadh is all about maya ..
Its maya love, maya obession, maya arjun, mayas arjun best frnd, mayas arjun mother etc. Without maya there is nothing. So acc to ones view thy can consider her as hero, or heroine, or protagonist or antagoinist or anything. But maya is a lead that cannot be denied

I completely agree...It is HER story and HERS ONLY...all the others serve to take the story forward..

If Arjun turns out to be negative then it will be out how SHE makes him pay for it...if Saanjh turnes against her then it will be about how MAYA manipulates and gets herself out of the situation...and in the end it will be about MAYAs redemption, her punishment, her happiness or her final journey to peace...whichever way they want to end the story.

But it will always be about HER.

I agree with all that you have had to say. Maya swings between being an antagonist and protagonist but however wrong or right she may be, she remains the crux of the show. But the best part of your post would have to be the one in bold that cracked me up. 🤣

I agree absolutely !! Great post 👏
She's The Hero or The Lead of this show !!
Without ashwin & maya this show is flat & nothing new. This is her story.

I would say Maya is Anti-Heroine .There was a show in Life Ok called Amrit Manthan. In which Amrit was Anti-Heroine.Same way in Beyhadh Maya is Anti Heroine. She is not the typical soap lead. She is different. That's what is the USP of the show for me.Maya aka Jenny is the USP of the show. It's my POV.I am not putting others down.

That's the point...she is my girl and my super girl too..love Maya and all her manipulations and everything about her..I won't justify her wrong deeds, I will hate her, cry with her ,I am scared of her yet love her...she is the lead Nd and Jennifer has made it!!

I kinda agree with your post. This show is all about maya's "bey-hadh" (without any limits) antics (not love). She will show 'beyhadh' in everything.Till now story goes in smooth way as it was briefed in very 1st promo- "naam, shourahat aur daulat- bahut jald"
- "hamari shadi kab hogi?- bahut jald"

This part is yet to seen.

- "hamari married life kaisi hogi?- bahut bahut mushkil" and then maya burnt the priest alive!

There was also a promo where cvs showed difference between saanjh and maya's love for arjun. Saanjh- a quite lover whereas maya- mad lover. So, this show is also about how 2 shades of love conflict with other- abd tge battle who outsmarts the other!

And as 2nd promo says- saanjh about to wish arjun 1st but then maya reached there and wished him. Signifies that saanjh and arjun will always be friends and this will evoke maya to show her "beyhadh" madness towards arjun.

OR

May be arjun is deceiving maya and may eventually end up marrying saanjh (my view). From here, we'll see actual maya, who once said "mujhe galti manzoor hai pr bemaani nahi". She will then show him that "maya e aag hai jiski koi hadh nahi hai [she is a fire without any limits]

It's totally my POV. I'm neither towards saanjh totally nor towards ArYa. I'm just a public audience who is getting intrigued in this daily and as audience I'm expecting 2nd option as that will make things more spicy in my opinion. Anyone can freely debate with me but fighting is not my cup of tea!

I think Maya is the "hero" of the show
Just like the hero, she gets jealous, she doubts the spouse, and she makes mistakes ;)

I agree Maya is the prime mover of events. She's the fulcrum of the show. But the other two characters are equally important for the show to not lose focus. So I'd say, all three are lead protagonists. (excuse the tautology)😆
