Agree!!..Arjun's instant undying love for Maya was always a big question mark but everyone just dismissed it as bad writing...maybe it was not bad writing after all and it was all a part of the larger storyline. And if his character is doing this for money then the whole thing makes a LOT more sense.

If the above is true I see this going the gone girl way...with Maya doing everything in her power to keep Arjun to herself as well as to make sure he suffers for trying to cheat her...And Arjun doing everything in his power to break free of the mess he has gotten himself into.

Another thing that I have always found peculiar is that within a couple of weeks, Arjun went from not loving anyone and assuring Saanjh about the same, to declaring that Maya was his life and meant the world to him.
Realistically, how likely is this to happen? Even a die-hard romantic would not go from one extreme to the other within a few days, let alone a reasonably practical man like Arjun.

If they do go the Gone Girl way, then I hope they don't copy the plot and actually come up with something original in terms of the storyline.
Arjun assured Saanjh to not go away and that he will make everything ok soon. There was a thread on here in which a member suggested that this could be their plan, to steal Maya's wealth. Initially, I thought that it was a bit far-fetched. But this could be like Agatha Christie's Death on the Nile, in which the husband, who pretended to be madly in love with his wife, turns out to be in love with his ex, and they together had hatched the plan to murder his wife to acquire her wealth.

Not couple of weeks, I think couple of days after declaring that he did not love Maya he was already claiming to not be able to live without her.

If you see in the shows timeline after Arjun proposes to Maya, the very next day they fly back to India and then the whole drama with Ashwin and Jhanvi happens that night and the next morning is probably when the whole suicide drama happens and Maya is hospitalized. So literally A DAY after realizing that he was "in love" Arjun claims that he can't live without Maya...😕

That was highly unrealistic and totally not believable and can never happen in real life.

Somehow I don't think Saanjh is involved in the plan. There have been too many scenes of her heartbreak and crying to her parents etc for it to all be an act. Remember her sad song when she witnesses the proposal?

It's possible that Arjun is actually in love with Saanjh and stopped her from leaving because of that. He probably thinks he can have the cake and eat it too..i.e he can marry Maya for her money, ditch / kill her and get all her wealth, confess his feelings to Saanjh and live a happy life with her.

Was it only a couple of days? If so, then it is utterly bizarre. The only other possibility is that the makers are rushing ahead as it is a finite series. 😆
Because we never really saw Arjun fall in love at all. And the only point at which he started carefully reflecting upon whether to accept Maya's proposal was when she risked her life to save him, despite not knowing how to swim.

Yeah, in the other thread, the thread maker was wondering about that as well. It could be that he realised he loves Saanjh, and therefore decides to hurry up with his plan to get Maya's wealth. Hence his announcement all of a sudden that he will marry Maya. Ordinarily, one would have expected him to pacify Maya when she was agitated, not declare that he was marrying her already, within days of beginning to date her!
