I refuse to believe that Maya would stay with Rudra in the same house and in the same room, without being legally married especially considering MJ misused her. Also, Rudra and Maya constantly refer to each other as husband and wife in many scenes. There is also a reception happening and MJ refering that although they were not part of the wedding, they would hold reception. Therefore, I believe that they are definitely legally married despite the wedding rituals of sindoor and mangalsutra not being show.

Also in the promo shown before MayRa's pheras, Rudra is shown already putting mangalsutra and sindoor on Maya.

You are lawfully married if you marry as per your customs or in court of law

Rudra is a bengali so the marriage rituals have not taken place at all as per customs

If if you apply for US visa(dependent) they ask marraige proof(photos of ceremony from beginning to end as per your custom and marriage card)

Here no priest officiated marriage and no witness

It will not be considered marriage and cannot be proved in court of law if one party denies or wants to prove as legal marriage

Yes but any simple ritual should happen before priest or family and friends as witness

I am worried that in future Rudra may say they never married if he turns grey as no pictures or witnesses

No it's not. You need a priest and mantras. How can one get married without mantras? A marriage has to be officiated by a priest.

Bold: Pudava is exchanged AFTER the marriage. Not only the exchange is marriage.
