A fictional character is using it to fit her narrative in the story arc. it's not Jenny using her platform with 8M+ instagram followers actively degrading Bhagwad Geeta.

SO who said rape culture is not wrong? Did someone say that?

And yeah everyone knows its a fictional show. Nobody said the characters are real. I'm saying that the show is insulting the Geeta by showing a villain use it to justify her misdeeds.

What's so hard to understand?

Any deed wrong is wrong, whether done by a villain or a hero.

Not to justify anything, but even Ravan was devout follower of Lord Shiva. Why can't villains be follower of somebody/something divine?

Her mom rebukes her using Geeta to defend her misdeeds.

I like you standing up for your belief, but let's not forget that this forum has many people around with different sentiments which differ from our own and if they state their opinion, we can agree to disagree and not be rude.

Peace✌️

I don't think of Maya as a villain at least as of now....Also, she hasn't used Geeta to harm anyone. She used Geeta to give confidence to Rudra...

They hav not insulted Gita anyways. As greylicious said many innocents died in mb war. Abhi and ghatolkach both were sacrificed by Krishna to protect arjun from shakti karna's weapon. Upapandavas were sacrificed to save pandavas.leave everyone an unborn baby had to suffer the wrath of brahmastra. It's Krishna who asks arjuna to withdraw brahmastra for larger good and arjun allows ashwathama arrow to enter uthara womb by not defending it.so the right and wrong in Mahabharata is separated by thin line which needs a close reading. And Gita itself is not a hard and fast book. It was answer to arjun question. To understand it u need to ask question standing as arjun with the same humbleness and belief.here Maya has taken that book as inspiration to fight against adharma which of course bg endorses. But her intrepretation can be wrong. Only the forward storyline will tell her intrepretation right or wrong. They hav not insulted Hinduism in any way.

The actions of Krishna which you described were done because there was no alternative. Can the same be said for Maya who clearly KNOWS that what she's doing is wrong? Also, Krishna's actions were spur-of-the-moment when there was no other choice.

Maya could've taken the straight route to justice. She could've taken the help of social media and the legal system to fight MJ. She could've tried to expose him with the help of her accomplice. She could've used Antara to bring MJ's truth in front of the whole world.

But she knowingly chose to hurt the innocent. And she's rationalizing it by using the Geeta.

Did we see maya's journey .whether we know she had gone straight route. Why ppl are hailing hydrabad encounter.because after 7 yrs nirbhaya rapists are alive with option for curative petition. Ppl take up arms when justice fails when system fails.kurushetra itself happened becoz the system failed. A system told dragging a woman and disrobin her was dharma. It's exhausting all options war started.once it started Krishna didn't look back. Here Maya hav started war as she has lost trust in system. Why we need to see flashback. And in war in kurushetra the rules of game is play it same as enemy or adharmi as God himself has done it.

I think it's too soon to say what choices she had or what she could have done or who else were on her side or who weren't. As for now she looks like someone who was a victim and now has taken a path to find justice for herself which according to her is right.

As far as Geeta is concerned, I'd say its the characters ideology and how she is applying what she has learned from geeta on her life and who have wronged her. If you are seeing its wrong then it's okay. But I don't think her character has done anything to offend any religious sentiment.

@bold

She isn't rationalizing anything! She's rather convinced what she's doing is right.

The Geeta NOWHERE says that killing innocent people in wars is justified.

Please stop this nonsense. No need to involve religion into this shite.

Based on your post, I will say that you don't understand what Mahabharata and Gita are about. If you can't understand the fact that Maya is a grey character, you didn't understand that almost every one in Mahabharata on both sides were grey. What separated them was their choices and what they did to overcome their mistakes.

Also what do you think happened to lacs and lacs of soldiers in kurukshetra? They died and they were innocent too. Gita and Mahabharata shows you every aspect of human nature and a way to lead a good life. It's all about perspective when it comes to Gita and Mahabharata. Morals change but truth is eternal.

There are many examples of demons being devout followers of God and yet they committed many sins. There are so many people in this world that twist meaning of sacred text and propagate it.

Also it is you who is highlighting religion considering you can't focus on the character and just accept that it is just a tv show where a character is depicted in a certain way.

The show is about Maya and her revenge not Gita or Mahabharata.

Based on what did you feel that I don't know that Maya is a 'grey' character? Don't be that naive, we all know she'll turn a full-fledged villain later though she may be in the grey zone now. There's something called common sense which in your case is not so common.

Yes, almost every character in Mahabharat is grey (except Vidura and a few others), everyone knows that. What makes you think I don't? You think I'm commenting without having read the Mahabharata? Seriously? 😂

Also, you need to gain a better understanding of the meaning of the word 'innocent'. When we use the term, 'innocents dying in a war', we do not include soldiers. We mean civilians who were bystanders and had nothing to do with the war. A soldier's casualty is not termed as 'innocents killed in a war', which you'll know if you start reading news and news-related articles.
