Maya gave Rishi the taste of his own medicine. He wanted to blackmail her and possess her to boost his ego. Ismein kitna percent pyaar hai, bhagwan hi jaane
She smartly twisted the situation to bring everything unto Rishi.
Exactly, boys like Rishi think they are very smart and can make popat out of girls. But, this time he got back what he gave. Maya just gives back what she receives. Rishi was thinking that he will scare Maya and coerce her to submit to him, but Maya scared him out of his wits, by truly executing what he supposedly did.
Remember the first time Rishi had accidentally touched her hand, she poured on it a streaming cup of coffee right then and there. After that she seems to have mentally prepared herself for the ordeal so that she does not react like that at least on his face.
Its not just a battle against Roys, its a battle against herself too, where she has to cope with her fears, her discomfort and her disgust for them.
And she actually cut her wrist which shows to what extent she can go to ensue her revenge. When said masoomo ki bali chadti hai looking at her slit wrist, I felt she using herself as a bali in her own war.
Interesting point. That scene could mean that she is reflecting to sacrificing herself for this battle. It could also mean in the sense of an 'aahuti' she is giving in a yagya. Or it could also mean sacrificing Rishi's maasumiyat in this war.
There is an interesting parallel between Rishi and Rudra with regards to Maya. Rishi is not even sure about loving Maya but he is all set to possess her to satisfy his ego. Whereas Rudra's mind is full of Maya's thoughts, ever since she helped him break the doors of his fears. Her shades intrigue her, he wants to know her more, he can submit his ego in front of her, but he isn't sure it is love.
Rishi finds her beautiful and he is lost in that only, because he only finds love to be skin deep. But Rudra pays more attention to Maya's thoughts, her approach and her personality which defines her. To him beauty does not just define someone. So his love is more like soul deep and also the fact he relates with Maya on a personal level because of many experiences which they share in common.
MJ was so cruel to Antara, I felt bad for her. But that's the life she chose to live, she doesn't have the guts to turn tables like Maya and threaten to leave instead.
She is a modern age Gandhari, who could not teach her husband or her kid, as in Rishi to respect women. So she gets that kind of treatment. Her weakness as a woman, wife and mother, has cost some people their lives and for Maya - probably everything she held dear in life.
