On that note let us go ahead. Maya indeed aage badh rahi hai, with her designs against the Roy family, but let us rewind into what transpired today.
Rudra's panic attack - Ok so Rudra's claustrophobia does not emerge from any particular condition; but from his past when he caught his GF in the act of getting intimate with a guy, on an elevator. So he mostly has an elevator-phobia which is holding him back from breaking free of his problems - basically his past. So, here we have Maya who has fought and emerged victorious from these inner demons, but only to watch them crash and burn together. Just like she emerged victoriously, she guides Rudra in her iconic style to break free of the past and open that elevator door. Here we see another instance of a teacher coaching his student or in Maya's view - the guru training her warrior. And Maya is quite pleased with herself when her student too emerges victorious. Another point I would like to add is here we saw Rudra struggling to break free from his darkness which is presented here as a phobia, and when he pulls open that elevator door and rushes out in the light and rain - he embraces the light and rain which represent freedom as he breaks free from the shackles of his inner darkness.
Antara's true 'aukaad' - Bade sapne aur choti aukaad hamesha khoon bahate hai. Antara was dreaming that after 30 years of marriage, she would hold someplace in Mrityunjay's heart. But Mrityunjay showed how chota is her aukaad, just like the water that makes alcohol pheeka - unlike lemon and ice. For Mrityunjay, his sons and his mother are his life. Antara is only a means to keep Rudra in that house because Rudra is as important as Rishi is to him. He calls it 'love' which his mother correctly terms as 'control' and walks off. And Antara is left with a bleeding heart and moist eyes.
Rudra's 'feelings' - are certainly mixed. As we all know and by Rudra's own admission - he is intrigued by Maya - like a book with several chapters and sub-chapters to them. She is only 'sanki' towards them, but in general, she is a regular girl who is deeply attached to her mother. He was so much involved in describing Maya, that he forgot to sweeten his coffee - just the way Maya likes to have itš. Well, Ananya is very observant because her feeling isn't wrong when she asks him, tujhe Maya se pyaar to nahi ho gaya - which he conveniently brushes off - and his eagerness to call back mummyji.. oh sorry, sorry...auntyji was also noted by Ananya. What I liked is, that Ananya does love Rudra, and she gets very possessive about him, but not in a way that will make you feel irritated or annoyed i.e. like Saanjh in S1. Of course, she will feel bad if Rudra's attention shifts to Maya, but her character traits are such that she may accept defeat in love, but surely not in friendship.
Rishi's obsession - Well in his bid to prove to his friend that "Maya loves him", Rishi shows another display of his Mrityunjay-ness - as in his obsession and need for control, which baffles his friend - because Rishi going through so much trouble for a girl, is so unlike him - well we have our Duryodhan in the making, peeps!
Maya and Nandini - In S1, when Maya was trying to so-called "protect" her mother - she was so controlling to the point of being mean - even with Arjun. In S2, we see that she is definitely trying to pull back her mother - but only to make her understand that she is just trying to keep her away from the wrong people out there, as well as her dark designs against the Roys. Her mother does try to feed some sense into Maya to let go of the darkness of her past and embrace the future, looking back only brings death - which is exactly what Maya is seeking I believe - like fire - aag ka to kaam hi hai sab kuch khaak karke, khud khaak ho jaana. All that happened in the past - has rendered her lifeless already - so what better than embracing death by taking all those people along with her - but what if life does not let her? what if life pulls her back?
Coming to life, Maya drowns her mom's phone in the water bowl as she has not allowed Rudra free pass yet into her life. But Rudra is equally adamant - he will continuously try calling till Nandini picks up - but Maya will not let it happen so easily. Rudra's access to Nandini means access to Maya's history - and Maya cannot let someone so easily into her past - especially a Roy. This scene also has a strong foreshadowing, in a way Rudra and Maya's relationship will be in the upcoming episodes - Rudra trying to reach out to Maya and trying to break through and Maya consistently pushing him away.
Well I am through with my ramblings, time for me to hear yours
