If it helps you to reduce your own frustrations by thinking I'm the frustrated one here, when you're the one who's making all the assumptions, go on . I'm nice like that. :)))
The shows that were mocked and bashed here on a regular basis , were they watched so that it's confirmed that the tracks were always bad , chemistry was bad , execution was bad? ?? On which basis it was said to be a show which is a cut above others ??
Still okay. Every fandom thinks their favourite show is manna from heaven. But is it necessary to mock bash other shows or fandoms which are doing far better in ratings ?? Its just like bashing the toppers when you fail the exams. Yes there might be some faults in the system . But I see absolutely nothing wrong in saas bahu shows or supernatural shows succeeding simply because Ive enough other materials to watch and I'm just happy that mass people of our country are getting their entertainment too. Now tell me who's the frustrated one here.
There's just too much amount of superiority complex rolling off here on a daily basis which is obnoxious and offensive. All bets off ! To get respect first start giving it.
I'm not from India so I do not know anything about your trp system. But from the few shows I've watched, I've come to the conclusion that the trp system in india is very flawed.
Shows only go offair when trp starts to decrease and not because story is concluding. As a result, sometimes it takes years for a show to end since ardent fans keep watching and watching until the show has become far too torturous for anyone to watch.
Shows like kumlkum bhagya and kundali bhagya have no message to give. All they have is plotting, trying to unveil the bad guy and comic relief. They are not innovative in anyway, nor is there a proper plot, nor is there a proper story. The actors do a fine job with what they have but the story is pathetic. The reason why these do well is the failure of a director or a production house to experiment.
Let me explain this. We get a show with a concept that people like. It garners trp. Its a hit with the audience. The show eventually ends (not because of a conclusion that had already been decided but because it has run dry). The director comes up with another show. Very similar. Has a few changes so that its not a blatant copy. But it's very similar. That show is a hit too because the previous show had left the audience wanting more just like it. The formula worked so they keep recreating it. Other directors start copying it because the formula has shown success so it is safe. They dont want to work hard so they may something similar, again without making it too obvious that it is a blatant copy. I say too obvious sarcastically. This is what ekta kapoor and gul khan do on television. Their web series may be different. I wouldn't know. But odds are, if you've seen on of their dramas, you've seen them all. And only when one formula runs dry, do they come up with something new. And audience keeps giving them trp because eventually, the audience has been conditioned into liking one type of drama. One type of story. New things may create a stir but eventually dwindle because they begin craving the old and the familiar.
You have a show that is not doing well in India. Reasons may be several. But its loved all over the globe. So tell me, which show is a true hit? One that is watched in one country, or one that is watched in several, one that has a global recognition? The answer is very clear.
Now about this fandom's 'so called' superiority complex. We are proud of our show, of its story, of its actors, of its uniqueness. How it takes cliche situations and turns them into something else entirely. No show is perfect. This one has its flaws, but we love it still. That's what fans are. And we don't go in other forums (as you have) and bash the show (as you keep doing). We do it in our forum. We have a right to criticize a show. But we are not deliberately going to another forum and trying to get a rise out of the fans there. We do it in our own community. What you did was try to start a fight and then put the burden of the fight on us. You deliberately instigated the fans here and then backed of saying 'ive done nothing'. So I decided I would not give you what you clearly wanted (i.e. a fight) I would respond in a civil manner.
If i went into, say a BTS fanpage and started bashing the band, I would definitely get a backlash from the fans since I deliberately walked into a fan page and not a neutral forum about all bands. If this had been a page about Indian dramas in general, I would have defended you but you walked in here, created a mess and now are denying an intent to instigate by making snide remarks on our 'negativity' and 'frustrations'.
And if we dislike the show that is taking the slot of our show, it is but natural. Because our show was rushed to a conclusion after a mere 8months Because the channel abruptly pulled the plug. The channel's lack of professionalism reduced the trps to this point, their interference destroyed the story and then the show is ended despite fans pleading for an extension. It is only human to dislike the show that will replace ours when you look at the background of said dislike.
And its not like the new show will be a flop simply because we say it is. Why do worried? According to you bepannah has no viewership in India so us not watching won't affect the new show. We're not harming it any way. So I ask again. Why are you worried?
