Going off topic here: I read countless news articles stating that naagin is the no.1 show of the country but how is this possible

Rana daggubati's no.1 yaari gets TRPs of 9.1 The south indian (telugu) shows scores 6+ trps i am just confused how is this possible..are'nt the south indian shows part of the indian tv industries ???
