Bepannah My thoughts, eps 137~ 138.. All for the love of Zoya!
Ep 137 ,24th Sept: Zoya , is one entity that matters much to three men in the current episode. Waseem the man who fathers her. Arshad the man selected by her father to be the ideal man. Aditya Hooda, the man who loves Zoya and of recently he grows on her to such an extent that she begins to get the picture that he does matter to her.. more than a best friend. The younger men stand by her. the man who rejects her yet again is none other than the man who brought her into this world.
No matter how honourable Adi and Zoya act , their bond is misconceived and grossly and cruelly misjudged! Sad for the daughter, whose father himself spear heads ruthless opposition to her choices,be it her job or more recently the man she befriends. But the plus point for Zoya is, that one more time Aditya helps her cross the river of fire! So much so that he lowers himself into the river of fire too. The dark hour for them to part at the bottom of the stairs approaches! Adi gives her his mothers ring as a wedding present, jests the ring prefers to stay with her.. accept it as his keep sake forever! Zoya is dew-eyed. Yet cruel eyes following their every move, Adi shows reverence, towards both Waseem's honour and much disciplined he leads Zoya to the place ear marked for the nuptial formalities. Every step they take , takes them away from each other! Arshad's parents, Waseem and Arshad fail to comprehend this pair s actions. For Adi, although he is much dispirited, yet he plods on with weighty steps. As he has to prove Zoya's happiness, matters much to him. gently he sits her down. Zoya clings to his hand and her puffy eyes s plead silently to him. don't leave me Aditya. But Adi clenches his jaw and turns to leave.. one more time, he is tugged.. and he freezes in his step, not daring to look back at the visibly shaken Zoya. Once again the whole cosmos shows all present, that these two lovers are destined to unite! A deadly pause occurs, he realizes the end of her bridal dupatta gets entangled with a piece of clothing on his body! his jacket that makes him decent.. and the dupatta on her head, protects her decency. Zoya's weeps for him to wait! It's as if by divine intervention her mantle silently begs him to give her life long protection!
What a pity, wise seniors misinterpret the show of nobility, reverence to elders by these young souls! Even Adi's brief pause to pointedly release her mantle of grace and dignity, is passed off as a shameless act! Waseem is forced to shout at Adi and spurn him out of his house unceremoniously! Zoya's face suffers agony as Adi is yet again targeted for public humiliation ! Adi is silent. He has stoically done his duty by bringing the bride , his love to the mandap! To be given to Arshad in marriage! Slowly with delayed steps he weaves through people , slowly passes behind the nuptial divan and once more lingers behind her. Adi watches her back figuratively! his snail's pace is geared towards something he had said to Arjun, he will continue to hanker for Zoya, till she say's I do to Arshad! That will close his limitless, boundless love saga..
Waseem urges the Qazi to get on with the marriage now that Adi has been shown the door! Two solemn words repeated three times to omit doubts and convey clarity and consent to marriage by the man and wife!
Arshad takes Zoya as his wife without delay! But its Zoya's vow that delays Adi's foot steps. The moment arrives .. Zoya freezes at the first attempt! Adi's steps too freeze! near the threshold of the Siddiqui house! Second time too, Zoya cannot bring herself to utter Qubool hai.. her father intervenes, in panic and patiently pressurises her to say the words he wanted her to say! But tearful, sobbing Zoya.. has visions of times spent with Adi! his repeated reminders that he matter to her! third and final time she opens her closed palm and looks down weeping at Adi's ring in her clammy palm.. almost breathless she has her revelation that Adi does matter to her.. that's why her lips remain sealed three times , to accept Arshad as her husband!
Adi has heard enough he has to leave! as that's all Zoya will deliver. Her silence speaks of her decision! But Arshad yells Aditya ! and raises his sehra, goes after Adi to the door!
Waseem delights! mutters Arshad is the right person to kick Adi out of Siddiqui house! Zoya stands up from the mandap and stands much afraid , huddled beside her sister! Arjun watches silently.. he has full faith in his bhai.. why shouldn't he? Like him Adi too is the torch bearer of truth. bhai's intention was only to support Zoya and far from being the disruptive element in the marriage as he brother is made out to be!
The man who becomes the strong link that eventually unites Zoya with Adi! Adi heroically faces Arshad's wrath stoically .. his face humbled but if the need arises to defend himself and above all Zoya! he will have his say. Arshad bids Adi to hold his piece and listen to what he has to say! Arshad in no uncertain ways admits his hatred towards Adi for all his plotting he carried out against him. Confused he wants to know what he has done to him to deserve Adi's conspiracies ? In fury as expected Arshad clenches his fist and yanks his arm to punch Adi's jaw! That which all expect! But Zoya shivers in dread! But Arshad stops his fist mid air! Like Adi did .. in the hospital! The tone of the scene revolves and Arshad confesses that three times Zoya was asked to say the two magic words that he too dreamed to hear.. but.. she didn't.
Humility repaid in kind by two noble men to each other. The sehra placed on one's head, the highest point of the body! as opposed to the lowly feet! The lowest point of the human physique ! The beautiful scene corresponds with the scene where Adi touches Arshad's feet to show humility. Arshad, removes his sehra and hands his, ego and self respect over to Adi's hands! His words, "now she will say the two words epitomizes the bare truth!. Arshad's parents think their son has lost the plot! They too see their respectability at stake! Their son publicly rejected and humiliated! But Arshad , carries on in his professional mindset, how he comes across truth and pain on a daily basis. Meeting Zoya made him ignore the truth and replaced it with dreams.. Arshad corrects his earlier statement to Adi.. that the love he saw in Zoya's eyes was love meant not for him but for Aditya . He confesses that when he first met Zoya, she already loved Aditya ! only she was quite unaware of it till just now ! Zoya's silence , when asked for her consent to qubool hai to the Qazi! Spoke volumes. Arshad convinces the elders, If she belongs to Aditya how then can he make claims on her!
Waseems prized horse as pulling out of the race! he cannot lose in front of Aditya! In desperation Waseem pleads Arshad misunderstands. Zoya herself told him she chose him as opposed to Aditya. Waseem argues he will prove it that Zoya does not love Adi! she herself will admit that !hear it from her to believe! He begs Arshad not to take such an emotional decision that he would regret later, Arshad argues all of us were blind to their love.. because we refused to accept them as two people who love each other!
The father who literally bullies his daughter in carrying out what he wants her to do! Like repeated torture, he orders Zoya to tell all! she does not love Aditya! and they can pick up the marriage from where they left the ceremony! Zoya dreads his wrath.. he glares and frowns at Zoya! his big bold eyes glares at her forcing her to say the crucial words! But Zoya was not going too say then now! now that she just found out that Aditya matters, so much to her ! Zoya remains mum and the more she continues to resist! the more volatile her father gets! In fact Waseem turns stares Zoya down ! intimidates the terrified girl! with cruel emotional abuse ! Waseem's commands say she doesn't love Aditya! Pushes Zoya at the brink of breakdown! At that point, how helplessly, she looks at Adi, to come to her rescue !!Adi raises his voice from the door , he shows Waseem respect and refers to him as sir! , she won't be able to say what lies in heart her! for fear of hurting him again.. hurting him matters so much to her, that all along she has been lying to herself too! Waseem growls at Adi and snubs him to stay out of his family's business ! outsiders views are not welcome! After Adi speaks up in her defence. Zoya too gathers her courage and still terrified of her bullying father.. stutters.. apologetically, she failed to understand when? and how it happened?? but she tried to stamp it out!! only she lost at the hands of her hear! Zoya's words echo what Waseem said to Roshnaq, regards Zoya's friendship with Aditya, before one knows it may change into love! Seems, his worst fear now stares him in the face! Such dramatic irony! In Waseem more loathing rises up within him! but Adi's eyes, well up with tears for her courage, to speak the truth! Nearly all who loved Adi and Zoya, nearly wept at Zoya's confession .. Zoya continues, how she cried. when she realized! Waseem mercilessly grabs her arm and literally hurls her towards the door! But then Adi grabs her in his arms and like always.. Zoya may stumble but Adi will never let her fall! The ring of his strong arms are ever present for her! she looks up into his tearful eyes ..and he looks at his ,brave lady's tear stained face. It's not easy to go against people on loves! How inadvertently it may be! Waseem didn't realize but the deities in heaven! made him give his daughter away to Aditya Hooda! Providence sure does work in a strange way.. these two were destined for each other! Alas! no good fighting fate Ep 138, 25th Sept: : I will honour your family like my very own.. For me, this episode Adi, certainly shows he respects and reveres Zoya's family. He could have taunted and humiliated Waseem by eloping with his daughter.. but that would not be fulfilling a key vow incorporated in marriage. Adi aspires and fulfils the vow even before being married to Waseem's daughter. But one can one do when a father feels grossly wronged by his daughter? One can only continue to be strong in love and go through all the trials and tribulations.. with regards to honouring his family? The precap shows.. challenges times for Zoya too!
Waseem never fails to remind Zoya of her past blunder with Yash. Its cruel the way he never lets her forget. After meeting Adi she gathered all her spirts and self esteem that both Yash and Waseem robbed her off. the scene is useful as she gets the chance to point out the key difference between Adi and Yash. This time Zoya as a woman is strengthened by the faith in her unbreakable friendship and love between her and Aditya.
Ameena blowing her top and pulling Zoya to bits along with Waseem.. is really about showing the humiliation and rejection families have to deal with due to children's an unexpected action. Zoya is made to feel guilty about the shocking action she takes. Ameena is a scorned mother whose perfect son is spurned aside! Her curses she sends Zoya's way are chilling and judgemental. Waseem too is made out to be a father who has no control over his daughter. We are reminded through Ameena ,that it was Waseem who initiated the alliance! The only positive thing about the scene is that Arshad upholds Zoya,forgives her; and reminds her to have faith people don't hate her,its only that anger and shock makes them so. In a way he apologizes for his parents abrasiveness too. With empowering words, thus Arshad parts with no hard feelings; hopes to see them again.. to Adi he says the one thing.. that he is sure Adi will keep Zoya happy. Zoya tenders heartfelt apologies, she never meant to hurt them intentionally. Arshad, she lauds as a most kind hearted and merciful person! This for the minute, marks the exit of the kind hearted doctor Arshad Habib.. he exits on a good note!
Forgiveness is not easy to give where one is emotionally involved and expectations are dashed. Zoya begs, weeps, for forgiveness from her Abbu, who refuses to dispense easily a pardon. Waseem hurtfully even snatches from her, the privilege of being her father. Adi too lets go of Zoya's hand as it will not be seen as a blessing that his daughter is married to a man who loves her bepannah. Instead their clasped hands will be seen more a curse! Yet Adi's fights the case on behalf of his Zoya. Once again Adi fulfils the vow of shielding his love against all sorrows.. he kneels in humility but Adi just may not be there! For Waseem Adi is an outsider! Nonentity. For Waseem knows the way to wound Zoya is to denounce her choice! Zoya he accuses of cheating him twice.She betrayed his love and trust twice!
The mother who supports her daughter is the same woman who slaps Aditya but now wipes his tears! Consoles Adi that a man whose hardened heart refuses to soften at his daughters bitter tears.. best be left alone. Such a potent scene. In the presence of an egotistical father, a mother bravely blesses her daughter and her love!A mother entrusts the piece of her heart into the hands of the man she loves! Roshnaq consoles and empowers her daughters choice! When Zoya confesses that she made a mistake against the family honour. Roshnak confirms that in choosing Aditya , Zoya made the one correct decision of her life! As a mother she blesses them both, reminds them that in having love, they will see, how they inherit all the happiness in the world!
Waseem looks on disdainfully at how his wife Roshnaq is effortlessly over powered by the mother of their children. In reaction he asserts his power, pulls Zoya's arm from Adi's arm and hurls his daughter out of his house forever. The scene reminds me of how Adam and Eve were banished out of paradise! Waseem as if like the proverbial wicked king expels his daughter who dares to go against the commands of the king!
With doors shut on her face.. Zoya bangs onto the door to be let into her fathers house! But behind her ,covering her back as always !is her best friend who loves her Bepannah! Hamlet53.
Well congratulations! I don't know whether to cry or jump for joy? The real story has just begun.. mind you as long as they are together.. they can face any thing.. Harshad and Jenny are the life and soul of Bepannah.. never a dull moment from them in the role of Adi and Zoya. Great performance by Taher Shabbir as Dr. Arshad. Wishing him luck in his forthcoming ventures!
