No its a family trend how u r using some use Chopda some Chopra. Some use Rajpoot some Rajput , Like Karishma Kapoor before marriage I think his Ex's surname was Kapur not Kapoor ie some use Kapoor some Kapur.

Chopra , Chopda is used in North India particularly

Chopda , Chopra are surnames. Both are different but the later .one is common that the former hence the confusion.
My friend is Garima Sethi, she is often referred to Garima Shetty.

Have u heard of Priyanka Chopra , she is Punjabi, Jat community ..Amongst Sikhs, one can find Chopras.

Chopda is 3 tier city in Jalgaon district, Maharashtra. Harshad is a Marwardi Jain but from Gondia district, Maharashtra

Chopras practise Hinduism and this guy is a Jain.

just like the ita website when it comes to government records, banks or ids , the surname Chopda is often referred as Chopra. Even if correct documents like birth certificate , id proofs are given still mistakes occur.
