Hi Guys,
I am not new to India forums, but as new
to this forum.
I will be honest and let you guys know
that I do not actually watch the episodes daily. I have seen a few episodes and
have enough friends (that are mega fans) that keep me posted.
In very rare moments, I get inspired to
write. And if I don't pen something down, it keeps bugging me. I stumbled
across the latest promo of the show (the riots one) and felt like writing
again.
I hope you guys give feedback and
correct me if I get any of the information wrong.
And please if someone has any OS or FF
recommendations, please please let me know. I would really like to read some
stories, but I alwaysam confused about what I should read. So would
greatly appreciate some recommendations.
Thank you!!!
Jess
He stood frozen. There was chaos
surrounding him and incomprehensible screaming and commotion. However, all he
saw was her running frantically away from him. A moment ago, she had run
towards him and crushed him into a hug. But it was not Aditya's name that she
had taken. It was his.
And now, all he could do was watch
her run away. Rationality and reasoning gave him a million justification as to
her frantic search for Arshad. She may have felt responsibility towards Arshad
or search for him out of her own humanity. But for some reason, he could just
couldn't bring himself to rid of the devastation he felt in the pit of his
stomach.
Zoya kept running frantically. She
searched in every direction but could not spot Arshad. She turned to ask Aditya
if he had any luck in finding Arshad, but he was not there. Zoya's breath got
caught in her throat and she panicked on not spotting Aditya. She turned back
and sighed in relief as she found him standing where she had left him. As she
ran back towards him, he looked straight at her without moving. Thought he was
staring in her direction, he showed no indication of being aware of her.
She rushed to him and grabbed a hold
of him.
"Aditya!!! Aditya!!!
Aditya broke out his thoughts and
stared at Zoya as she frantically shook him.
"Zoya He whispered her name as if he
finally realized she was right in front of him. Her faced was covered in tears
and ash. And the tears still seemed to be pouring down. It broke him even
further.
"Are you okay
He did not trust his voice to betray
his emotions, so he nodded is response.
"Please, please help me find Arshad
He nodded again in response. He was
about to speak, when he saw a group if rioters headed right behind her. He
pulled her against his chest and turned his back towards the rioters. He braced
himself for their assault. To make their way past them, the rioters pushed them
against the building wall. Aditya flinched as he took all the impact of his
already injured shoulder.
"Aditya...
Before Zoya could say something more,
he shook his heard.
"I am fine. We don't have much time.
Before it gets much worse, we did need to find Arshad. Stay close and don't let
go
He grabbed a hold of her hand and she
nodded in agreement. Aditya started leading them ahead. They hugged the walls
of the stores, tried to be discrete and stay out of the attention of the street
rioters. Aditya kept a tight hold on Zoya's hand but remained focused on the
task at hand. His training had let him bury all his emotions and internal
conflicts and solely focus on finding Arshad. Surprisingly, this focus gave him
a sense of relief. This focus did not let his mind wander of all the what ifs
and what now question. It prevented him from tormenting himself by analyzing
the events of the past few days. But he knew, this was all temporary. Those
thoughts and questions would return as soon as this was all over. In a way,
fate had a cruel sense of humour. Searching of Arshad in this chaos had given
his mind a temporary calmness. And soon as the riots ended, his internal
distressed would start again.
They continued to search, but so far
had no luck. Aditya stopped in his tracks. He remembered seeing a group of
people had rushed into the shutters of the shop. He led her to a hidden corner
beside a building.
Aditya let go of Zoya's hand.
"Zoya, Arshad's hospital is close to
here. He might have hidden in one of these shops. Stay hidden here. I will
search the shops across the road
Zoya grabbed his hand in both of hers
and stopped him.
"Aditya, there was are still a lot of
rioters and...
"Zoya, we don't have a choice. You
want to find Arshad, right?
Zoya bit her lip and nodded as more
tears started rolling down. He took her face in his hand.
"Just stay hidden and be safe. I
promise, it will be all okay
Zoya nodded her head and Aditya
walked away. Zoya held her breath as she watched Aditya avoiding the rioters
and crossed the street. He went from one shutter to the next, while banging and
call out Arshad's name. Zoya watched him get further and further away. She felt
the hopelessness growing and temptation to run after him growing as well. She
was about to give up and run after him but stopped.
Aditya had finally found Arshad. He
had taken refugee in the last shop, along with others. He stared past Arshad
and saw a group of scared and panicked faces. The depth to which humans could
sink still surprised him. A group of rioters had created so much destruction
and terror and it was all reflected in these faces. Not for the first time,
Aditya wished there was something he could do. But right now, his focus was
Arshad.
"Zoya has been searching all over for
you. Are you okay?
Arshad nodded. "I was about to return
to their house, when the riots broke out. Before I could call, I lost my phone
in the chaos and had to take safety here. Is she okay?
"She is fine. Let's go
Aditya and Arshad ran back to where
Zoya was hidden.
"Zoya
"Arshad
They had both spoken at the same
time. Aditya felt a pull in his heart at seeing them and their concern for one
another. Before either of them could speak again, Aditya broke in.
"We need to hurry. Zoya, your house
is close by. Let's go
Aditya turned to leave, but Arshad
stopped him.
"No, we can't. The riots are still
going on and it is still dangerous. We should go back and hide
Zoya looked at the rioters, the
destruction and fire still on the streets and nodded in agreement. Aditya
clench his jaw and tried to calm the rising anger and agitation.
"The riots can continue into tomorrow
and will get much worse at night. If we stay away from the major roads, we can
avoid most of it. We will still need to be careful, but now is our only window
to try to make it out.
"Aditya are you sure?
He tried to hide his disappointment.
Zoya had already started to second guess him. It was becoming harder and harder
for him to handle.
"Zoya, if we hide, we are still in
danger. When there is no one of the road, these goons will start searching for
anyone. They will break open every door, break every window and set fire to
everything in sight. Please, just please try to understand. We have to try, and
I promise I won't let anything happen
Zoya grabbed his hand and nodded.
"Arshad, Aditya is right. We have to
get home
The three of them kept to the smaller
roads and made their way discretely.
Roshana hadn't stood still from the
time she had gotten news about the riots. Why did Zoya always have to be out,
in the midst every time there was something going on. First the floods and now
the riots. She was grateful that the rest of them had been home but had not
stopped worrying about Zoya. It was coming close to dawn and she still had not
heard from Zoya.
She was still pacing, when the
doorbell rang. She ran to open the door. She cried out in relief as she saw
Zoya. Noor and Waseem came running behind her.
"Zoya beta, are you okay? Are you
hurt
Roshana pulled Zoya into the house,
with Aditya and Arshad in tow. Waseem nodded at Aditya and turned to smile and
pat Arshad.
"Are you okay Arshad beta? You did
not get hurt did you
Aditya watched as Waseem walked
Arshad towards the sofa, where Roshana was busy caring for Zoya. had taken a
seat. He could not understand the reason behind such depth of hatred from
Waseem. At first, it was a bit easier to disregard. And out of respect, he kept
quiet. This was becoming harder as well. He let Noor pull him to where the rest
of them were.
Aditya stared at his feet and was
lost in thought. He could not help but feel out of place and forgotten. He
could not figure out what to do. He was not sure how much more he could take before
breaking down.
