The second half begins with Zoya accepting her award with a grinning "Qubool hai it was almost as if she was saying it to Adi through his laptop.
The scene then shifts to Paris which we all have been waiting for :) Aditya with his drink is ready to watch Zo get her award. The whole scene looked like a set up to me as if Adi was prepared to celebrate her win beforehand.
As soon as Zoya holds the award with a huge smile, Aditya freezes the screen to take a good look at that smile almost as if that smile would be enough to pull him for few more months in solace. He gets a tiny smile on seeing her but does not reach his eyes. Harshad the fine actor nails it here, the spark that we use to see in Adi's eyes is missing, the mischief is missing and he portrays that excellently!
Zoya begins her acceptance speech in which she says she started out her journey alone without any aim. She does not mention the Arora's here but somewhere gives them credit too by mentioning how she started out alone but met few people on the way to her success who helped her, that's the beauty of zoya :)
Of course, she saves the last for the best! Zoya coats Aditya in a different color today, we hated Adi in the beginning who use ask Zo to have some self-respect, yell at her for being overly nice to people, not seeing the real Mahi, and what not. These things which she use to call his batameezi became her hausala now ..
Meanwhile Adi is listening to her entire speech with a blank expression till she mentions "Janab Aditya Hooda he stops drinking with a mild surprise painted on his face. Because nowhere in his life he was expecting any praises from anyone anymore especially Zoya siddhiqui! The screen pauses on their faces with Adi's surprised grin that says "Seriously Zoya? and Zoya smiles right back at the camera. It was almost as if she knew he was going to be surprised .. Then knowing/hoping he is watching she sends out her dua to him, her dua which tells him he is not alone, he has not been forgotten by them, he is missed, he belongs in her dua, her thoughts.
Reporters surround her, few months' back Zoya would have mumbled or stumbled back to give an interview but this Zoya is fearless and has a message to send out to her Jahapana.
She calls Aditya Hooda her inspiration! The same irresponsible and selfish man is her inspiration! Zoya says she has changed a lot to which Aditya responds to the laptop saying yaad matt dilao lol, like I said above it was as if he was having a conversation with her through the laptop . He says cheers to the smiling and changed Zoya, after months he has a reason to celebrate. Doesn't matter how his life has been, he is happy Zoya has found her path, he proud of her even if he is lost. That's the Adi we love :)
Jab we met moment happens when Zoya says she has found Aditya in herself, an old Adi's spark is seen here when he says galib kahin ki'. It was his way of saying he misses her too, misses her urdu galiyan. He cannot take this much praising of himself so he wants to sarcastically ignore it by mentioning how she use to always scold him.
The reporter here asks a good question- how come he is not here with you? And the title track comes in here beautifully saying mere dil ko tere dil ki zaroorat hai, silently showing Zoya and Adi looking away from the camera and laptop respectively.
Zoya takes the first initiative and looks back to confess to Aditya who she has full faith is watching her - no matter how far he goes he is always with her, to this Aditya's eyes turn back to the laptop screen with a spark of hope in his eyes. Zoya also says she knows he is upset with her, with this world who failed him, who he failed. Zoya is the only one who knows the inner turmoil Adi has been going through which is why she calls back him in her own style hamari yaad unhe kich laegi, and Adi looks at her in surprise. The surprise that there is someone eager to him meet back home, there is someone who awaits for his return.
The episode ends with Zoya asking where are you Aditya and the title track playing showed these 6 months Zoya has spent in Adi's thoughts and Adi has spent it in her thoughts. They need each other. Zoya may have everything in her life to make her happy but she still feels that emptiness which can only be fulfilled with Adi coming back.
The quote in the start reminded me of Adiya's situation today :)
