Author's POV-
Adi sat at his desk, pulling open the first draw he pulled out a photo, covered in white lines from constantly screwing it up. "Where did I go wrong with you" he sighed, eyes slightly teary.
Zoya's words had managed to get to him, thoughts of his one and only love clouded his mind. A knock on the door made him stuff the photo back in the draw before looking up "Come in"

"Good morning you're ten minutes late" Adi muttered, looking up from a file, he span his legs around as he perched on the edge of his desk, his sky blue shirt was unbuttoned at the first three buttons.
"Sorry, I was caught up" I sat down, putting my bag by my feet, my back ached and my legs felt like jelly, trying to get my Abbu to allow me to leave the house had proven more difficult than usual.
"Oh yes, busy with that job of yours that gives you no time to date" his left eyebrow inched up slowly, clearly he wasn't in a good mood today, he seemed so dark and mysterious and very closed off, it peaked my interest majorly, I always enjoyed a good puzzle
"Something like that" I shrugged, "So you ready to get started" I just wanted to keep my mind busy
"Well first things first, what are you looking for in a man"
"I guess just someone who is understanding of my struggles, not someone who assumes I make myself to busy on purpose" I offered him a pointed glare before standing up and walking up and down the room. "I just want someone who sees the good in me, my family and my life when I cant, someone I want to go home to at the end of a long day"
Adi stood up crossing his arms and leaning against the wall "Okay, that sounds easy enough, we need to discuss the start of a relationship, attraction, the first rule is eye contact, it makes all the difference, come here" he held my hands, pulling me right infront of him and suddenly it was like I was somewhere else completley
His caramel coloured eyes gazed into mine, his orbs enlarged slightly as he leant in. "Now talk to me" he whispered, "Make eye contact, but not so its weird"
But somehow, I couldnt make myself break eye contact. "Hi, my name is Zoya"
"Great" he stepped back, letting go of my hands, "The next lesson is interest, you need to make sure you're asking questions that show you're interesting, but you also need to show you're interesting, like this" Adi smiled at me before sitting back again "So tell me about you"
"Im an event organiser, have been for about the last five years, I live with my Abbu and younger sister"
"An event organiser, that's great, so you seem quite family orientated"
I nodded "I sure am, are you"
Adi nodded "I am, you see how my focus was on you, next I need to sound interesting, jokes and light sarcasm works well, he needs to charm you, but give him reason to feel needed, it ups his ego, im going to walk out of this room, when I walk in we're acting like we are on a date, okay"
"Wait" I reached out, grabbing his hand "Im not ready"
"So when will you be Zoya, if the time isnt now, it wont be tomorrow" he pulled his hand away, walked out and within a few seconds he was back in
"Hi, im Adi, you're Zoya right" he took my hand, shaking it before sitting down on one side of the desk, "You look beautiful"
I knew this was just an act, but I wasnt used to compliments, my cheeks flushed red "Thank you, so Adi, uh tell me something about you"
"Im a matchmaker, trying to make perfect matches, yet I haven't made one for myself"
I smiled "Yeah, funny isnt it, what would you describe as your perfect match"
Adi smirked, leaning forward he grabbed my hand and winked "You"
My stomach was filled with butterflies as I watched him trace circles with his thumb on the side of my finger, now I understood Mahi's warning, he really was a charmer. The buzz from his phone made me jump, breaking the moment immediatley
"Hi Adi, my brother is here to see you" Mahi's spoke
The door swung open, a man with glasses and a grey jumper on, rolled up to his sleeves stood silently before smiling at me, he was attractive, very attractive indeed.
"Yash, this is Zoya, he is a client here to and you both seem to be very suited, so I would really like you both to go on a date tomorrow " Adi stood up, walking around the desk, he really did want to push me fast
Yash stepped forward before turning to me "Hi Zoya, im Yash, Mahi's brother"
I glanced down at his hand, shaking it and introducing myself, Adi sure worked fast, but he was right, I needed to try and fail rather than never try
Yash held out a piece of paper to me "Here's my number, drop me a message later and we can organise something", he nodded at Adi before leaving us alone
I turned fast back to Adi "What if I mess this up"
He shook his head "You wont, just follow what I said, you are both at the same stage, the only way you will know what you want is if you go on this date, you'll either love it or hate it"
I released a deep breath before nodding "Okay, I can do this"

I was about to reach my car when I saw Noor running my way "Aapi, its Abbu"
I felt my blood run cold "What do you mean, is he okay" I grabbed her hands tightly
"He walked out of the house and I cant find him, im so stupid, im so sorry I should have watched him" Noor sobbed
"Hey, its okay, we're going to find him okay, it was an accident, have you called the police"
She nodded before her eyes widened "There's a lake near the house, I didnt check the lake Aapi, I didnt check the lake"
