3: Feelings-
So the first workshop went really well, apart from my mysterious boss stood with his arms crossed the whole time, leaning against the wall watching me, I felt like some kind of performer and I was minutes away from stage fright. He then came waltzing over, how did anyone walk with that much grace? I had an overwhelming urge to trip him up.
"So, what did you think"
I shrugged "You're the boss, you tell me"
"You did well, im actually quite proud" he moved his tie slightly "Anyone not paying attention" ?
I shook my head "No, some seemed scared, but I assume that was just because of the introduction you gave for me"
He laughed again, and honestly it still is to this day the most beautiful sound I have ever heard.
"There's a work party tonight, I think it would be good for you to come, get to know the people"
"I mean, I dont really have anything to wear" I was taken aback when he screeched my name
"Zoyaaa, I really dont need the images of you naked in my head right now, I have a meeting"
"Wha- wha- what, I didnt say anything about being naked, all I said was I didnt have anything to wear, you just jumped ship, you have no filter whatsoever, do you talk to everyone like this" I crossed my arms, the expression on my face veey clear I was not impressed
"No, just you Ziddi Zoya, you're a special case"
"Well, if you carry on everyone's going to name me as Adi boss ki chamchi" I argued, hoping to put some sense into him
"I did suggest that as a nickname, you refused, but dont worry you won't be having any hassle from the staff, and if you do come and see me"
"Why, what did you do, threaten them all" I rolled my eyes, voice full of sarcasm
"Yes Zoya, yes I did" and with that sentence of his, he walked away, and im preety sure he took my heart with him

"Wait, so, you threw a drink on him, immitated him, told him you didnt like working at his event, argued with him about him paying you extra, called him Mr Big Shot and insulted his cousin and yet you're still working for him" Noor looked shocked, "Oh and he knows your email ID, I can't believe it, he sounds like he really likes you Aapi, you've liked him from the very first speech he made at the event all those years ago, if theres a chance he may like you back, why dont you just tell him and see where it goes"
"What and have him laugh in my face, no thank you Kohinoor" I huffed "I have no idea what to wear"
Noor stood up, a sly smile on her face "You're going to wow him tonight, he likes you Aapi, clearly, stop shutting people out because you're scared you'll get hurt"

I felt nervous, so nervous I was sure I was going to vomit all over this beautiful lilac dress that trailed just over my feet. The upper part was covered in gems, the hem was lined a slightly darker purple and I honestly felt like a princess. With one last deep breath I stepped into the party.
Adi turned around straight away, his gaze lingered on me for longer than id like to admit, and before I knew it, he was stood right infront of me. "Well well, you dress up nicely" he swallowed "Maybe beautiful Zoya was a better nickname"
For once, I was speechless. I really was enamoured with him. For so long I had liked him, and with all this attention he was giving me, it didnt just feel like just a crush anymore. I didnt realise when he took my hand and led me forward, "Dont spill any drinks on me tonight, my mum got me this shirt" he winked
"Mummy's boy" I breathed out, it didnt hold the undertone of my usual sarcasm, because his close proximity was affecting me more than I ever expected.
"Doesnt everyone love a man who loves his mum" he asked
"I suppose, but the next thing you know, mother in law becomes monster in law, like the film with Jennifer Lopez"
He let out a breathy chuckle that sent vibrations down my spine. "You watch to many movies Zoya"
"It seems you dont watch enough, so are you going to tell me who to talk to, or have I just been invited here because you want me to keep you entertained" I turned to look at him and he just smirked
"Id be lying if I said you're not here to entertain me, I like you Zoya, my days are usually very boring and you make me laugh, I like that you challenge me, no one else has the guts to" he noted, then pulled me to the bar "Do you want a drink"
I shook my head "Just a coke", I looked away as he ordered the drinks, I was always a people watcher, they just interested me I guess. I reached back, grabbing a glass and downing it, the bitter taste strong, making me shudder "What kind of coke was that" I coughed
"It wasn't, it was rum, you took my drink"
My eyes widened, "Adi, ive never drank before, im going to get drunk, my head feels funny, I swear to god why do bad things always happen to me when you're around" I shook my head "Im going to die, im going to die"
Half an hour later, I was off my face "Adi baba" I called, making his jaw drop "Have I ever told you how good looking you are"
"Look Zoya, lets get you home" I felt his hands on my waist, trying to guide me out
"Nooo, I dont want to go home, I want to dance, come on dance with me" I gasped as I bumped into that woman who told Adi to fire me when I spilt a drink over him
"Oh, how embarassing, you really should get rid of her Adz"
I want to tell you I regret what I do next, but I dont. I grab the nearest glass, splashing the liquid on her face "Oh how embarassing, you really should get rid of her Adz" I mimicked before storming off. 'Adz' hot on my heels
"Zoya, Zoya, wait" he grabbed my wrist spinning me around "You're drunk, I need to get you home"
I shook my head, pouting "No, lets dance, puhleasee" I jutted my bottom lip out, winding my arms around his neck, I gasped as I felt him lift me up into his arms
"As much as i'd love to dance with you Zoya, you can barely stand up straight, so im going to take you home, okay"
"You know, ive known you ever since that speech four years ago, you said when life gives you pain, always show your strength, when life gives you a reason to stay down, give it ten to get back up, and if ever a day comes where you just dont know what to do, wake up, take five minutes studying the beauty of the world, breathe and carry on again" I yawned "I thought you were amazing then, but I knew you were never even going to look my way"
Adi looked down at me curiously "I remember you Zoya, you stopped cleaning to listen, you were the first person to clap for me"
"You are correct Mr Big Shot, you have your smart cap on today, will you sing to me, ill sit nicely in your car if you do" I awaited his reply as he sat me inside, then got in himself "Ooh the seat has a heater in it" I wiggled around before pulling my seatbelt on
"I cant sing" he replied
"Oh so, go on, just once" I begged
"Stop being Ziddi Zoya, I can't sing" he shrugged, starting to drive
"Fineee, I will sing then" it was highly possible at this point that I liked the sound of my own voice far to much. "Tere naam hamne kiya hai jiivan apna saara sanam

Adi glanced my way, "You know Zoya, you're just not my kind of woman, but for some reason I just cant stay away" he spoke under his breath, but his comment had broken my heart. Yes, it was true, I wasn't rich like him and I didnt live life to his standards, but that didnt mean I couldnt be good enough for him.
"What's that meant to mean" at this rate I could barely keep my eyes open
"It just means Zoya, that you aren't like the normal women I associate myself with"
"Seems you hang with some boring women then" I bit back, "Take a left here and we will be at my house" I wanted to get away from him as soon as possible
Adi parked the car, helping me out, I grabbed my keys, unlocking the door, I turned back to face him "Im feeling like I need to take five minutes studying the beauty of the world, goodnight" I slammed the door in his face, maybe it was petty of me to be using his speech against him, but I was so past caring at this point
