He looks at her sobbing face and feels something piercing his heart!! There she is, crying all alone in midst of people!! He walks upto her and opens the Gathbandhan first...
And a desolate she ,hugs him for support..and he hugs her back...
"I have got you" & " you have got me", he says...
And they both realized how ALONE BUT TOGETHER they are in this mess of a situation!!
He holds her hand and they walk away , leaving her pallu and his scarf unfastened!
Little do they know that the real knots of their destiny have already started being woven!!

Right now,The sacred matrimony knot(gathbandhan) that symbolizes the union of two people, is a farce for them.. As Adi said, there are no emotions, no commitments,no promises involved and this is just an Act!! Currently,That thread symbolizes nothing for them...NOTHING!!
So first thing he does when he approaches her to console, is untie that knot...what use would it be now as their plan has been exposed..it is afterall just two pieces of clothes!!
But destiny works in mysterious ways...as he is untying the knot,another thread is being woven by fate!! And this thread connects his heart to her heart, his thoughts to her thoughts, his trust to her beliefs, his life to her life, his soul.to her soul!!
