Maya Baby was a badass! I am like you, got to know Jennifer from SC. That was a strong character too. Kumud had her rules and she lived by them. She married a man she didn't love so as to stop the humiliation of her family when her would be husband doesn't turn up to the wedding. This is a man she was madly in love with. Only a strong woman could do that. Then she lived with the consequences of her decision until that marriage ended.
Maya was a victim of abuse and she herself was an abuser. So in many ways, she was very flawed. Her defense mechanism was going on the offensive. Get them before they get you attitude. A fully disillusioned woman, who NEVER experienced unconditional love in her life. Neither her Father nor her Mother loved her unconditionally. This is what made Maya who she was in the first place. Also she was mentally unstable but never got the help she needed. She was a sociopath. But despite ALL this people connected to her, and that was mostly because of the great writing at the start and then the great performance by Jen. She owned Maya and sold her to us. So much so people loved her more than the so called "good people" in the story!
Coming to Zoya...she is not actually weak. She is naive and sheltered. She wishes to see the good and choose to see it, but sometimes at the detriment of the truth and the reality of the situation. Aditya is a cynic when it comes to "unfaithfulness" because he himself saw it in his own family. Zoya has never experienced this, and she has no reference point. She only saw the image that Yash projected. There were many realities she was blind to. Maybe her Father saw some of it, and didnt trust him. He is probably a better judge of character. I have a feeling, in time, HE will approve of Aditya, where as he did not approve of Yash.
Yes the "Crying". It needs to stop. But in the state she is in, crying is her outlet. She has been thrown in the deep end and Adi's intimidation, along with Mahi's mind games, and the continued pressures she is facing is overwhelming her. Her family too cannot help her, her father is angry and rejecting her. She is lost and lonely.
So we cant expect much from her right now. But THIS is the baptism of fire she needs. She will come out of this stronger and she will accept the reality too. But she may not be bitter like Adi, but show him a new way to deal with this bitter truth as well. She will end up getting his respect as well, I am sure of it. THAT is the story. They have to get each other out of this rut. I am really looking forward to this journey coz I love psychological drama, and here we have one!
