I do not think he married her for money but did marry for love. But 5 years is a long time. If what Mahi says is true, he did not confide in her that he could not provide for that kind of a lifestyle.

That itself would have pushed him further away from her along with the pressures of a failing business. Moreover, her father did not approve of him and his family would have been constantly talking about Zoya in a bad light which would be enough to drive a person nuts. It is enough to fall out of love.

Am sure he might have strayed along the way like his sister said, found solace with another person who understands him but am not sure Pooja is the other woman. It is his own fault as he never said anything to Zoya meaning he never treated her as a true partner or else he would have known that she would have stood by him no matter what. Maybe he hid things so he would not have to face her father's disapproval.
