I wanted to make this post for a while, but was waiting for the right time. Now that this Barkat track is going to be over, I want to mention how much potential this track had, how much this track accomplished, and what CVs should take away from this track. People always tend to look at the negative aspect, but do not see the accomplishments.
Lastly, if this beedi had not entered, I swear we would not have formed a chudailon ka group on IF 😆 i loveee my chudails btw 🤗 and you all would not be experiencing this satisfaction of beedi being kicked out either .. ROFLLL
Barkat Villa / Barkat Royal - the name was so common, yet no one would have guessed that there was a mystery and an emotional connect behind this name. Talk about impressive writing. Suddenly there was a mystery involved in the show. Linking the missing pieces of the puzzle was exciting to say the least. One day Zain and Aliya come face to face with a bitter past and decide to work as a team to bring Barkat home. This phase did wonders for the couple and brought Zain and Aliya closer. Whether it was the second nikaah or their journey of working with each other. The suspense factor really kept people hooked to the show.
One cannot forget how this justified Suraiya's hatred for Bhopal and Haiders. She isnt the typical saas bahu character who wanted to create problems in her son's life for the heck of it. There was much more to her. It brought the required depth to her character that was needed. Her hatred would not hold a lot of importance had the reason not been as big as this.
Barkat's entry then caused Suraiya's character to mellow down. You got to see her bond with Aliyah. Yes it didnt last for too long, we didnt expect it either, but still you saw a different shade to her.
Having said all this, I always thought that majority despised this track because of all the off-screen drama that dimple had created right from her entry, but then it started to annoy mutual members like me as well, but of course for different reasons. My reasoning was you could not have a simple track start to overshadow the main plot of Zain and Aliyah. The OTTness in the relationships also killed the excitement.. they should not have taken it overboard with the bhaiyu crap.. it made the feelings look very unrealistic. You couldnt connect emotionally with the Abdullahs. I think one lesson CVs should have learned from this is that you cannot have our leads support a track.. you need those tracks to support the main story. Secondly, dont over do the emotions. It made the entire barkat interaction with family look fake.

CVs really did a great job, but in between the focus shifted entirely on beedi which was not acceptable. Not to mention Dimple's famous interview was like the last straw in the coffin 😆
