I agree, I don't think the writers will or even should go down that path, just because it gets very complicated in Islam. It's not a simple process. And also, there's a waiting period, some say 3 month period, where husband and wife need to try to work out their issues or whatever it is. But I believe it to be 6-9 month period. Till this day, I myself, sometimes get confused as to how the divorce process works, so I don't think writers should really go down that path. It also depends on the situation, each situation is different, that's why it is always recommended regardless of who asks for it, for it to be discussed and taken to a religious leader in the community.
Unless they show Zain asking for the divorce/saying it, and then the waiting period happens, where Aaliyah would still have to live n the house anyways, and in that time period Zain falls in love with her lol.But then again, I had heard somewhere that the show was going to explore the process of divorce or something like that so idk.
