I guess it's a grey area as to whether it was forced or not.

I know they were emotionally blackmailed, but they still had the right to say no, but they didn't. I mean a lot of us would find it difficult to say no in such a situation because of the love we have for our parents, but would that make it their fault or our fault that we didn't say no?

In Aaliya and Zain's situation both their parents kind of pressurised them to get married, but they also didn't speak up about the fact that they don't want to get married because they couldn't bare to hurt them. So I think both the parents and children are at fault.

Generally speaking I'm sure people are against forced marriages, I definitely am. I would've preferred it if their wedding didn't happen the way it did, but I guess it's part of the story.

In their situation I would've spoken up and said I don't agree to the marriage. I know they did whatever they did for their parents, but I'm sure parents care more about their children's happiness and if they explained their reasons, then their parents might have accepted it.

I'm not questioning about the past episodes which I have not seen since I do not have complete knowledge on them. But I do have complete knowledge on the episodes I've watched recently, therefore my question is relevant.

I did take a friendly approach to everyone even those who replied back rudely to me and decided to get personal. My post was no where near offensive. It was just a question.

Well first things first, as a matter of fact the entire show's concept is based on this marriage and how things will proceed after that.
Forum members are celebrating coz IT IS A SHOW and we are happy to see the leads come together. If u haven't, then go through the forum posts. U yourself will find how sad everyone is seeing Zain and Aliya at such a cross-road. Had the marriage been a totally happy one I'm sure the celebrations would hv been double.

And the marriage wasn't a totally forced one. There was another way out but both of them chose to opt for this. There hv been shows where the marriages are actually "forced" and brutal. This was nothing like that. They might not be happy now but there was a mutual consent.

As for linking n disliking forced marriages, well in reality no one would like a forced marriage but they do happen! Forget forced n just think about arranged marriages where ppl are practically tied to strangers...do u think they whole heartedly go into it? They don't but they try to work things out and find happiness in future. But the celebrations are the same be it for an arranged marriage or a love marriage.

Having said all that, I'm not entirely saying that the show is flawless. Every show has flaws, everyone's life has flaws but we have to live with it.
And as much realistic a show might seem, searching for logic in a dailysoap is a big NO.

P.S. This is an open forum and everyone is entitled to their own POVs. As fans of the show if we need to take both praise n criticism equally then as a topic maker u too have to do the same. U can't stop ppl frm commenting just coz they don't respect your opinion. They will comment but its upto u how u deal with them.
