Maybe it's the most popular Muslim name in India? I'm not sure as I live in England, and it isn't really such a popular Muslim name here.

There are more beautiful muslim names... but i guess cv's only like Zoya and Aaliyah.

There was also an Emraan Hashmi film in he loved a girl named Aaliya and she died. Oh can't remember the name. Ohhh yaad aya, Awarapan!!

they are really nice names but yes i agree why use names that have been used so many times b4 in movies/other shows... check out Pakistani serials their names be different, khirad, kashaf, aiman, saman, maham etc... with indian movies and shows i think they go for the very common muslim names they hear abt quite often or are familiar with and zoya and aalia are common along with Aisha.
