I'm new to the forum but have been watching Behenein for quite some time. I just had to drop in and say how much I appreciate the character of Akashi. So many times when a female character is introduced, she is described as being "strong" and "confident" but ends up being a doormat bahu as the serial goes on and basically ends up a loser female. I think Akashi is one of the first females on television that's actually a STRONG character. She doesn't like to get too emotional, she has strong beliefs and stands up for them when necessary. Even when Kshitij had left her, instead of wallowing in self-pity, she burned his pictures and decided to get revenge for what happened to her. I hope the creative team of the serial keeps her that way and she is a good example for other women.

hii :) welcome to the forum and so glad you posted this...cause I completely agree with you. In most shows, the woman starts off as strong and then ends up becoming typical bahu, but Akaashi's not like that, and lets hope she'll never be either :)

Rightly said girls! I would say that Akashi is the strongest female character that I ever saw in the Hindi serials that I've watched so far. She is vulnerable....yet very strong, self-respecting, sensible and sweet. Hats off to the creatives for the brilliant characterisation of Akashi. She is a girl unlike the typical serial heroines who are insensible cry babies and stupid martyrs. My admiration for Akashi and AkaSha jodi after watching yesterday's episode, sky-rocketed.
